Yard House

Food here is always fantastic. I feel the service is lacking. Most of the ordering you are made to do through the device on the table, which just feels super impersonal to me. Beyond having to put my own order in, many times, the server rarely returns to the table, and drinks often go without being refilled.

I love the yard house chain so I came with my wife for dinner. The servers were all super helpful and informative and kept a positive attitude the entire time. The place wasn’t that packed so we got seated immediately, but the kitchen staff were a little careless with my food. I asked for my burger medium-rare and it came well done which wasn’t too bad, but when they re-did my order the fries came with this very slimy smashed up ~1/4 of a potato which ruined my appetite when I grabbed it and realized. When I showed the server he said it “just wasn’t cooked right” which was an understatement, but in his defense it’s impossible to think of a quick save for a disgusting thing like that from the kitchen. But my wife ordered the pork chop which came out PERFECT. Since the food & drinks added up to around $130 before tip I would expect the quality I usually get at other Yard House locations so 4 stars feels fair. The Blue Orchid cocktail was really good and looked cool with the blue/purple color!

We were initially drawn to this place because of its cozy atmosphere and the beautiful view by the water. We were able to get a seat relatively quickly, and the view was amazing. The server was friendly and very attentive from the moment we sat down. The drinks and appetizer were brought out quickly, giving us just enough time to order our entrees. We ordered the Cajun jambalaya and the Hawaiian chicken. The jambalaya was very good. You had a choice to pair it with pasta or rice. I opted for the Jasmine rice. The rice was a bit over cooked for my taste, but the jambalaya was seasoned well and had a good kick to it. I would definitely try it again, but maybe pair it with the pasta next time. The Hawaiian chicken was perfectly cooked. Sometimes, chicken breast can be extremely dry, but it was very juicy. However, the terriakyi sauce was a little forgettable and didn't really bring out the dish to me. It was missing that wow factor but still a very good dish. Overall, our first experience at Yard House was definitely a good one, and we will visit again to try some new dishes.
