I really enjoy this place! Good food, good beer, great service... what else is there? Great selection of craft brews (that’s a big plus for me) and great place to watch football. We like to sit at the bar.... great view of the big screen, but all monitors are placed where you can see lots of games.

My daughter and I stopped in here for some lunch. I was expecting bland ole bar food, but the food and service was excellent. I got the huge Reuben sandwich and fries which was awesome. It was made with what looks to be hand sliced thick pastrami. Nice portions! Also kids eat free on Sundays so my daughter and I ate for $14.

The second star only comes from the great server we had. She was quick, attentive and wore her mask then entire time during our last experience at this restuarant. She was a younger Asian girl. For starters food was very bland. Looked good, but it lacked taste. BUT the main reason for this review is the blunt disregard for safety of the customers. If you are looking for a place that is being proactive in the safety of customers during the pandemic this is NOT the place to go. All the other servers and bartender had their mask on but down around their neck, which tells me they are suppose to be wearing them, but are choosing not to. Customers came in one by one sitting next to each other at the bar, no mask present, ignoring social distancing guidelines. As more people came in we finished as quickly as possible and got out of there. Places like this are the problem and the reason we can't have public places to enjoy a nice meal without constantly worrying of transmission due to the environment. I WILL NOT be back and WILL NOT be recommending to anyone, if anything I will be warning others.

I was visiting Gainesville recently and had some free time to explore the Square. Happened to go in Chopblock just cause it was there. Had a great time meeting locals and having good drinks and food. the staff were really nice to chat with. I’d like to mention two of them. Janet and Noah at the bar. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the Gainesville area.

Had to ask for a glass of water 4 times. Had to ask for 1 beer three times. Normally i would understand that these things happen but There were 10 people in the restaurant. Food was extremely over cooked and took an hour to get to the table. I will not be going back. The place has a lot of potential but right now it is lacking.
