Very nice lunch place. The food is very nice. Fresh salads and sandwiches. Try the chicken salad...very good !
My knitting group meets here twice a week. Some of us order lunch, and a few even bring lunch to save money, and no one cares. We stay for 4 hours, and the staff loves us.
We ordered the famous chicken salad sandwich (which my wife loves because it tastes like the chicken salad I make for her) the hot meatloaf sandwich (which was very tasty! But I thought the meatloaf was rather too thinly sliced) and the pimento cheese (which she ordered grilled, and it came not grilled... Not sure grilled is actually an option but she likes it melted - so not getting that again.) In general it was good.

This review is for takeout. We picked up food at 1:30 pm on a Monday. It was pretty crowded and tables were not socially distanced. They don’t require masks for customers, but employees were wearing masks. They do encourage social distancing with spots marked on the floor for waiting in line.
We got Rebecca’s Famous Chicken Salad Sandwich with Pasta Salad ($8.49). The chicken salad was very good. The sour dough was perfectly buttered and toasted. The Pasta Salad was too drenched in Italian dressing. I wouldn’t get that again. We also got the Turkey Club with Egg Salad ($8.49). The Turkey Club was fine. The Egg Salad was very mayonnaise-y, but it was nicely peppered. We would probably go with chips or just skip sides altogether if we were to go again.
You get in line to order, then you’re given a number to wait. I was surprised that they still use the physical numbers, especially in Covid times. That was gross.
The man who took our order, who I believe is the owner, was very nice and friendly.
Overall, Covid precautions could definitely improved, but the food was good!
Just tried this for lunch with a friend and we both absolutely loved what we got! Definitely will go back to try some other options! Great food!

Very good food. Right in the middle of Gainesville. Chicken salad on sour dough bread & potato salad was awesome.

Great place for a light meal. Food was delicious. Enjoyed the choices of soups and sandwiches. The macaroni salad was wonderful.
