We had a great first experience at Sababa!
About 30 of us got together for dinner at the small family-owned restaurant. Not having been there before, we didn't realize how small the location would be, but Yael and Riley were adaptable and friendly, and we quickly moved tables inside from the patio so that we'd have enough seats. They will soon have more seating available. The owners were communicative and thoughtful in figuring out how to best serve our large party.
The food itself was incredible. All the food is kosher, and they use no dairy. It was wonderful to see options readily available for meat eaters, vegetarians, vegans, and those with gluten sensitivities; usually someone gets stuck with an option that's just OK, but all of us had great menu options regardless of our dietary needs. In particular, I highly recommend the vegan shawarma.
Overall, we had a fantastic experience at Sababa and are looking forward to going back or ordering from them!
oh. my. god. The chicken shawarma is to die for. I love all of the salads and sides it comes with too. And this is the best falafel I've had in Gainesville to date. Sababa is our new favorite place! I wholeheartedly endorse this restaurant!!
Quick and delicious! Meal comes with a great variety consisting of 2 different salads, chickpeas, hummus and pita, sauce, side of your choice and the entree! Only complaint was the salmon was a tad dry for my liking, however, the flavor was amazing so it made up. Everything paired perfectly together.
So glad we found this place! Traveling from out of town it can be hard to find Vegan options all the time. The food both vegan and non vegan was absolutely delicious. Very nice staff, great flavors in the food, and the mint lemonade was spot on! Maybe they will ship me some vegan shawarma 🤔 it was that good!!
Been here many times. … had the Chicken Shawarma to go this trip. … loved the flavor as always.

The Israeli and Palestinian menu looked awesome and the falafel I had was soooo good.
But if you go, you need to eat their vegan sandwich. WOW SO GOOD!!!

My brother and I are obsessed with this restaurant. First of all, it’s so homey and inviting on the inside. I think it’s a beautiful location in the middle of Gainesville. Their food is top quality! Always, might I add! I always get the vegan shawarma because I am seriously in love with the combination of flavors. My brother is vegan, so he loves the detail and care they always put into the food. Please get their fries! You are going to love them as much as I do 💕

I always get the falafel platter, it’s amazing. They also have a no tipping policy, which I fully support. I’d much rather pay higher prices deemed appropriate by the restaurant than being unsure whether or not the staff are being paid a living wage
Absolutely delicious meal and delightful service. I ate the vegan shawarma, and it was very flavorful. The portion was perfect for dinner!
