This was my husband and I's first time eating at the Reggae Shack and honestly their reputation did not disappoint. As some of you may know, we chosen a vegan lifestyle recently and their menu fits with our way of eating now. The food was delicious and the non-dairy smoothies were the very best! Oh! And those BBQ boneless wings were the absolute best!

I ordered the vegan wings and Jerk sandwich that came with fries. I think the wings are pretty good considering they are vegan (I got the jerk flavor) the flavor is powerful and they were really spicy which is good! The only thing I didn’t care for was the fries... some people like sugar on everything, I’m the type of person who likes salt on everything. I do think they are pricey my total was $25 for 6 wings and a sandwich with fries. It’s definitely something different than your average vegan meal.

The Jerk Boiled Peanuts are the best boiled peanuts I've ever had in my life! I will add that they are very spicy. I enjoy spicy food regularly, and normally eat cajun boiled peanuts, but these are extra hot.

Everyone there was so nice. I drove down from Jacksonville for my birthday lunch for the vegan wings, and they didn't have the vegan cooking oil, so they had one of the employees go and buy some oil, to keep from cross contamination. That is above and beyond service. Thank you so much.

They're a cornerstone of the vegetarian /vegan dining community in Gainesville. After expanding / tripling the size of the restaurant, Reggae Shack has unavoidably lost some of its charm, however, the food is still fantastic. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the smoothies are still very satisfying. A rich and creamy blend, more of a fruity milkshake treat than one gets elsewhere. An excellent choice to help cool off from the heat of the sun, or the scotch bonnets in your extra hot brownstew or jerk. A major perk of the expansion is the covered outdoor seating in the back.

This place was recommended as having great Jamaican food , by a person from Trinidad so I gave it a try. I will be blunt worst Oxtail and Ackee and salt fish I have ever had. Maybe If you are not Jamaican and don’t know what the food is supposed to taste like you may feel differently.

Vegan steak was delicious 😊I was really excited to try it for the first time.

Ordered the Escoviech Fish, it tasted old and refried. It was my first time trying it and I was very disappointed. I usually order the oxtails as a standard, so I decided to try something different, truly a big mistake. I’ve been eating at this establishment since 2004 and over the last 6 months, it’s been hit or miss unfortunately. I hate I didn’t take a picture.
