Great comfort food place! The food is always really great! I had the special pork tenderloin sandwich it was amazing! The wife had the fried chicken which is always good! Highly recommend Metro Diner! Hopefully we will get one in Ocala!
We were staying in town just for one day and happened upon this place, so glad we did, excellent breakfast, very enjoyable and our server Gabriel was enthusiastic, professional and absolutely fantastic at his job. Not only will we return to this establishment, we will gladly recommend it to anyone.
Highly recommend!! Came down for a rugby game and after seeing reviews on this place, had to try it out. Boy was i glad we came!! Food was amazing especially the chicken and waffles! The service was also pretty awesome. Our server Anna was very friendly and attentive. Stop reading this review and go see for yourself! And GET THE CHICKEN AND WAFFLES!
Outstanding service and the food satisfied each on in our group. Large portion for the Meat Lover’s Omelette. The home fries are the best. Sausage Gravy was delicious however the biscuit bottom was too hard to cut.
Coffee is very good, not watered down.
The Chicken w/ Waffle’s is mouth watering, words are hard to come by for this treat!

A staple for the weekends and early birds. Always consistently good with fun specials and items on the menu. They’re great with ingredient requests. Got the Breakfast Burger and Cinnamon Roll Pancakes. Usually busy if you come around 10/11 AM with at least a 10-20 minute wait for a group of 4. Outside seating area is dog-friendly (with a leash on) and has great ambiance. Usually can find parking in the plaza.
Service was super fast and the waitress was super nice and friendly. The Philly cheese steak was really good and had a lot of meat on it, and the bun was very soft. The home fries were plentiful and tasted great could use a little bit of seasoning on them. The cinnamon pancakes were very feeling, they could use a little bit more or the icing.
Friendly diner. Good menu. Food was tasty. Staff was helpful and efficient. They have made great efforts to make a safe dining space. One ding, coffee: good, not great.
Food was good. Service was fine. I gave my server a nice tip but she was suppose to give me back almost a $1 in change and didn't so I had to ask her for it which was weird. I hope she handles her money more carefully.
Very nice upscale dinner ambiance and very good service. I had the special, the red velvet waffle with fresh strawberries and it was splendid. I also had a side of the cheesey grits and they were only okay. Not bad, but not as flavorful as I expected, and not as thick either. Definitely prefer the cheesey grits at Harry's, or the creamy dreamy grits at The Flying Biscuit. I also wish the menu had featured more breakfast options with both savory and sweet items. On the whole, though, it was a good experience and I'm eager to explore more of the menu.
Stopped in to pickup lunch on my way home from an early morning appointment. They were busy, but the wait wasn't bad.
I didn't want to eat in. Though they have a outdoor patio.
I will go back again for breakfast and maybe eat in their outdoor patio.
