We love this place and come here a lot. Great food! Great service! And our waiter Jorge is absolutely the best!!!
Wonderful all the way around! I sat at the bar and had a couple of drinks that were cold and delicious! My dinner was simple but far from that! Shrimp Quesadillaswere to die for! The shrimp were grilled to perfection and the flavor was perfect! My bartender made certain it was cooked exactly like I wanted it. Listen and mirrored back my desires several times. Never forgot what I had asked for! Wow!! Friendly and professional! I will not hesitate to drop in by myself anytime! Thank you!
We stumbled upon Gloria's while walking down the street. We were drawn in by their awesome patio. The weather was perfect to eat outside even though there appears to be plenty of indoor dining space. Our server, Miguel A, was great! He was welcoming and knowledge about the menu and willing to help with questions. We tried a couple of items that new to to us thanks to Miguel's suggestions. The service and food were both great. I will return again when back in the area.
We have been to Gloria's for many years starting with the first one on LBJ. Both the Frisco and Fairview Gloria's are very nice Mexican/Latin restaurants. This is large, with a very high ceiling (basically the painted girders and roof). The interior is fine, but doesn't match the Fairview location. Additionally we were seated near the window with a cold draft down our backs. Plus, when the heat/ac went on there was a loud heavy machinery noise. With this we had trouble hearing the waiter.
The chips & salsa plus bean dip were very nice. The chips were crunchy without being too thick or thin. The salsa had just a little heat in them and great flavor. The black bean dip was standard. Its not great but it is a nice difference from many Mexican restaurants.
We ordered Steak a la Mexicana, Steak Flamado, and fried plantains. My Steak Mexicana compared well to my favorite (at Chitos). The chunks of meat were tender without being mushy. The tomato & chile sauce was fresh, very flavorful, and packed with heat. It was almost too spicy for me at lunchtime. Plus the plate was piled high. Almost too much to eat at lunchtime. My wife's Steak Flamado, covered with onions and queso flamado was also very good.
The waiter and staff came by frequently to refill tea and make sure we didn't need anything. Any more often would have been intrusive but as it was the service was very nice.
Minus points for the cold and the noise but otherwise it was a very, very good lunch. Fried plantains rule!
Has to be my favorite place to dine. Food is always great and margaritas are the best in town. Service is very professional. There when you them and not when you don't.
Probably my favorite restaurant. I love the Gloria's Special. Comes with good tamales, awesome Papuan, yucca fries, and plantains. Everything is always spot on.
Really enjoyed everything. I loved having the warm black bean dip with the chips and salsa and was surprised to like the combination of black beans and sour cream with my plantains as an appetizer. I chose shrimp enchiladas as my entrée and they were also really good. The sour cream sauce was full of flavor while not over-powering and the shrimp were tender and not over-cooked, as can easily happen. The service was very attentive and right on par with the food. Would not hesitate to return.
Seems upscale, totally affordable. Good atmosphere. Bomb chimichangas.
Beautiful Decor & Okay Food. Gloria's has a wonderful front patio that is packed during good weather. Inside, the decor is really well done with heavy woods and three tones of paint. The bar is the center piece and is very attractive. The chairs needs some repair. The seats are splitting and the wood is getting beat up.
The service is text book precision. One crew that keeps the water, chips and salsa fresh use ear buds to talk to one another. They make sure deliveries happen as needed. Servers not busy stand at attention at various places around the room. With the exception of our server, I found most of them never smiled or said your welcome. Our server really made the meal. He was knowledgeable and caring. Great job.
The food was okay. We like the black bean salsa. It's a nice change from tomato based salsa. The quesadilla and brisket tacos had good flavor. We really liked the spicy tairobi sauce. It comes on the side, so be sure to add it to your meal. It makes the flavors come together.
Excellent Food & Service, North Plano, TX. We found Gloria's on Urbanspoon & sure glad we did! The salsa was delicious, probably the best restaurant salsa I've had. We also received a little bowl of beans which was flavorful & a nice addition to the salsa. We shared fajitas for 2 which fed us for 2 more meals. The servings are generous. We had steak & pork fajitas. We could easily bite though the steak without the entire piece coming out of the tortilla. It was tender. The pork was really delicious & full of flavor & not dry. We had some special requests that were taken care of by any server available, not just our own. I like that; it means I didn't have to wait. We discovered Gloria's after a long day shopping & will be back again soon. Thank you!
Nuances. Gloria's has a pretty basic Mexican/Tex Mex menu, but it does have some dishes added on that set it apart. They give bean dip and sala with tortilla chips before the meal; the bean dip is fresh and delicious. Their chicken and beef fajita are delicious. This location gets packed really quickly at peak times, so keep that in mind when going for lunch and dinner.
Great Food!. This is one of our favorite date night spots for Mexican food. MUST try one of their pupusas....fantastic. Also, great drinks, that might seem pricy, but worth it.
We enjoyed our dinner very much. The food was yummy, and plentiful. The service we received from Martin was spot on. He took our order quickly. He was friendly and attentive to our refill needs of beverages and chips and salsa. We didn’t have to ask for the check or leftover boxes. All in all a great experience.
Great 1st impression for Sat lunch at this location. We have been other ones in the area but never here. Lots and lots of friends and family here for lunch and quite a few at the bar. See photos. We ordered from the brunch menu and got too much food for us. Next time try getting a smaller serving. Need to visit again sooner that later.
Good place to bring the whole family!
Came here for brunch on a Saturday and it was fairly busy, but got seated right away.
Friendly staff, good ambiance, cool looking bar in the middle and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.
Menu had many choices from traditional items: tacos, burritos, enchiladas, quesadillas, fajitas and Tex-Mex. The drinks and desserts menu were also plentiful!
Portions were good size and filling and prices were reasonable.
It’s a nice upscale yet casual option for Latin cuisine.
Michelle at Gloria’s Frisco was super sweet and she stopped by to check on us often, she made great recommendations and she was knowledgeable about the menu.
The food was delicious the red snapper was cooked perfectly and the soup was amazing, especially with the lime squeezed over it. The drinks never disappoint.
We got the chimichanga and the try 3 enchiladas. The chimichanga with steak is fantasticly good. The queso was flavorful and complements the chimichanga was incredibly good. Of the enchiladas the white sauce was our favorite.
Someone else got the tacos and if you get the tacos it's recommended you don't get the chicken as it was not the favorite meats.
Chips and salsa are included and are pretty good!
Went here for my sister's birthday and it was great! Service amazing! I loved my enchiladas and refried beans, but the rice was okay. Everyone else's food looked really well done. Their chips and salsa were real good and they use white cheese queso which I love so much more than yellow cheese. And their drinks were top notch! Pictured is the Guava Margarita and it was dangerously delicious I wanted 3 more! Definitely would come again just to snack and drink with friends or family!
First visit. Welcoming and attentive staff. Spacious patio sitting. Had Shrimp quesadilla and chicken fajitas . Loved the quesadilla. Taco was good as well. Did not like the drink. Overall great dinning experience .
