I was craving some good ole southern cooking and so we decided to go here. It’s is so hard to find country/soul food around here. I really enjoyed the mashed potatoes, turnip greens, fried chicken breast, gravy on the side and green beans. Cornbread was good and tea was excellent. I had half/half tea so it wasn’t too sweet which is the way I like mine. Hubby had roast beef, mac and cheese and corn. We did not have to wait long to be seated and the service was great. If I had to give and suggestions I would say green beans were a little to greasy so they need to work on that and my hubby says he did not have enough veggies/potatoes with his roast beef. This visit was very enjoyable and we plan on returning and maybe try breakfast/brunch. I would recommend this restaurant to try

Went in today with my husband for lunch to celebrate National Pie Day. We had a little wait, but only 5 minutes. I had the chicken fried steak and 3 veggies....soooooo good! My husband had a steak, not the best but ok. Our waitress was amazing. Checked on us, but didn’t rush us. Anticipated needs of refills etc. Since it was Pie day we eat got our free slices and while saying we wouldn’t eat but a few bites it was just too yummy to pass up! Hubs had the lemon meringue and I had the coconut....yum! Thanks for the great food and amazing free slices!

This was our first time eating at this location. Normally, we go to the one in Oakcliff on Davis st.. We were closer to this location and decided to try it out. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and seated immediately. The restaurant is themed like 1956 when, it originally opened. It is nice and clean on the inside. Our server was Jordan. She was very nice and took good care of us. We ordered the fried mushrooms, mozzarella cheese sticks, sweet tea, water and Arnold Palmer. The entrees were the chicken fried steak and 8 oz ribeye dinner and dessert we shared the cinnamon roll. After 7 pm, you can get the desserts at half price. Everything was cooked fresh to order and was delicious. The prices are reasonable. I would highly recommend coming here. I will come back when, I'm back in town.

I picked this place for breakfast because I love a diner vibe. The hostess and wait staff were great, but the food...freakin' fantastic! Chicken fried steak was great, excellent gravy, and the hash browns were on point. I do think the star of the show were the biscuits though...light, fluffy, and full of flavor! Can't wait to come back and try the lunch!

Great place to drop in and grab a bite to eat, plenty of items hanging around to keep you busy talking while you wait for the food to arrive. Food items are a little on the heavy side (southern type cooking) and the desert selection is awesome. Onion rings were superb until they cooled down, tasted weird and left a nasty after taste (could be the oil and/or batter used).

Fresh variety of American meals to satisfy every appetite. Although I ordered a chicken fried steak, I was served chicken fried chicken that was light & superb! It was perfectly seasoned & lightly battered.

It was a Sunday afternoon, that’s why the wait was 30 mins. But when the food came it was worth the wait. Really good food and nice people. Number 7 was so good that I think I am always going to order that. Must try.

Interesting place! The food was alright nothing to write home about. The pies and cakes looked good but I had so much food I didn’t have room for dessert, hence their motto “life is short eat dessert first!” Don’t get me wrong, the dish I had in which I forgot to take a picture of….. I was like starving 😂…. anyway I had the chicken tenders and 3 sides. The chicken tenders were on point! Large, great taste! The sides were mash potatoes, glazed carrots and steamed broccoli. They were ok as well as the cornbread and sweet roll. I wish the bread was warm or hot! That would have made it a bit better for sure. Staff and manger were really nice and friendly. I would go back again, but not a place I would go on a regular basis. New to the area and wanted to try something different, and this was that. Cool decorations and some classic old signs. 👍🏽

Good food at good prices. Not a fancy overpriced place, just a good neighborhood diner with very friendly staff. We didn't try the pie, but it looks good.
