El Meson

It’s the most cute restaurant I’ve ever been in! There are hanging sombreros on the light fixture and little cute rugs on the table. Walking in here my first thought was this would be the perfect Mexican food date night! The food however really didn’t hit the spot. I highly recommend ordering from the special menu as it’s more traditional Mexican and less Americanized. However the atmosphere from the workers was very nice, light, and friendly! Fresh salsa and home made chips are also served on the table for free!*****

This restaurant is a scam. After 18 of us got seated, we were told we only have 10 mins to order(waiter could have informed us before, we could have chose not to sit). Prices are relatively high for a Mexican restaurant. Plate share charges 9$. 4% for using a credit card for payment. There was a paper in the menu which said tips should be given in cash. Though the food was good, i wouldn't go back.

Love El Meson, might be my favorite Mexican joint in the central NJ region. The waitstaff are super nice the food is fabulous and man do they know how to cook lamb! How rarely do you get that? I loved every part of my meal and it was amazing. From the soup to the enchiladas, try the chicken ones they’re literally too die for! Sooo flavorful and mouth watering I wish I could have some now. Only thing I would skip are the chicken tacos which we all thought were too tough. But overall 5/5!

El Meson is on our go to list for over twenty years. BYOB and order your way through their large menu. Sit inside or enjoy sitting in their outdoor terrace. Our favorite starter is their seafood soup! Also recommend visit and shop for fresh groceries at great value prices in back of restaurant. We get our bag of 30 corn tortillas after every visit.

Love this restaurant! Me and my husband have been eating here for a while and they’re so friendly and the food is delicious. We have yet to have a bad experience. The waiters/waitresses have all been exceptional and we can always count of the food being nothing but amazing. I’m so glad we found this place and look forward to our nights out spent here. Thank you el meson staff, your very much appreciated!
