This National monument has various scenes set up around the property that give you an idea of the space and items available to the early inhabitants. It's amazing how history can come alive with just a few details. Seeing the bull and the mule really took me back in time to what it might have been like. The tour the fort was excellent and our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. Well worth a visit

Great place to visit. The fort is really cool with multiple levels and a great representation of what the spring would have been used for. They have a bull with huge horns and a mule. There is also a great, short hike behind the fort that has some fun views and was a simple hike for the little kids and some older people as well. We went during COVID-19 and there was no fee and masks were required in the fort.

This is a beautiful little park, unique in that they have some livestock (a horse and a cow) and maintained vegetable gardens in keeping with the history of the site as a Mormon ranch establishment. We went in August 2020. The visitor center was closed to walk-in traffic, but rangers were on site to provide information and the restrooms were open. We enjoyed our walk through of the site.

Quite an unusual place in the middle of nowhere. The sign along the highway caught my attention and we just had to stop, more for curiosity than anything else. It's the kind of place where you might spend an hour, to break up the drive on Highway 389 in the Fredonia area. There are park rangers there and some volunteers to demonstrate how things were done by the settlers there. A fort is also on-site and yes, there is a small spring providing water. The spring itself is basically underneath the fort but a pipe brings water from it to some holding basins. There is a nice visitor center on-site (closed due to COVID). It's nice to just walk around the place a little and stretch your legs. It's very, very quiet there. I suppose in the summer it's pretty unbearable but the temps in November make it quite pleasant.

With the museum being closed for COVID-19 it provides an opportunity to explore the grounds and the 1/2 mile loop around the backside of the fort. Trail on dirt, rocky ground with incline but not too strenuous if taking it at a slow pace. Enjoyed reading about the various landmarks and plants along the trail.

Cool little national monument just off hwy 89A. Historical and gives you a glimpse into the pioneer life style. The rangers were very informative and took the time to explain the history. If passing by I would recommend stopping. Gas was available nearby and the restrooms at the visitor center are very clean.
