Fantasticks

After eating dinner in the area, I had a hankering for something sweet. Walking around the different restaurant complex, I saw Fantasticks, so I went to see what they had. The place has ample parking, is located in a convenient area, and makes for an easy time aggregating with some friends. There's enough seating and standing room to accommodate parties of moderate sizes. The reception was great. The staff had an amiable sense of humor and were good at recommending flavors and toppings according to what myself and others asked about. The ice cream was decent and there were a few different topping and drizzle selections. I must say that while the idea is unique, I found myself wanting ice cream where toppings weren't falling off. Overall, everything was good, but in my opinion, there's nothing particularly outstanding setting it as a top tier competitor to other cream-based dessert businesses.

It was my first time coming to Fantasticks, so basically you choose your favorite gelato bar flavor from their selection, then choose 3 toppings and finally coat it and drizzle with the flavor of your choice. Once you paid don't forget to take a photo of your creation on their photo booths and shared it on your favorite social media. The establishment is clean and bright, I'll recommend to visit it for this upcoming summer days. By the way I purchase 2 bars and it was around $10 dollars.

Fun new place to try but very very decadent & sweet. Don’t get me wrong, I have a sweet tooth myself, but it was almost too much. The chocolate dip quality however was good, next time I might just come in from a plain vanilla with chocolate dip. The kids really liked picking out their ice cream and dip flavor. A fun experience for them.

Great place to visit and so yummy! Their Mini-sticks (while only come in chocolate or vanilla) are a great size for those looking to enjoy a treat when considering the budget or waistline. Staff was friendly and helpful, and all around area was clean and open. Outdoor seating is available for nice summer days and family friendly. I'll definitely be visiting again.

This was our first visit to Fantasticks in Frederick. The frozen treats were excellent and I'm excited to go back and try the many possible variations of gelato and toppings. The reason for giving only 3 stars is that the person who assisted us wasn't very pleasant. She appeared very rushed and disinterested in helping us (weird as we were the only people in line). The really surprising part is that in the midst of serving us, she was training another young lady. I do hope that this is not how new hires are taught to interact with patrons.

Ordered two: strawberry cheesecake and added coconut crunch sauce, graham cracker dust, white chocolate pearls. The other was Oreo cookie with white chocolate sauce, graham cracker dust and white chocolate pearls. Interesting concept. I wasn't wowed by it, but that is only because I don't like to bite into hard ice cream; I enjoyed it better after it melted a little. The process can be a little long because u choose your flavor of gelato, then the 3 toppings and the sauce. Imagine, 5 little kids trying to figure out what they want? I had a hard time 🙂. It was busy on a Saturday afternoon since Manhattan Pizza share the same space. Husband and wife collaboration; her vision is the ice cream, his is the pizza. Hope they are successful and last longer than Pie Five.
