Roro's Mexican Grill

They didn't have tonic, or grapefruit. I was charged $8.50 for a vodka cranberry after I was told they were out of tonic. About ten items on the menu were crossed out in a single pen mark and new higher prices were written in. For example an $8.99 drink was crossed out and $14.99 was written in. My rice was undercooked and still a little crunchy. They were understaffed and the manager was serving tables and running drinks. For a Friday night on their opening week they were packed and I am sure I was not the only one disappointed.

Only positive about this place was the chips and salsa and the decor. Had the seafood burrito and that was gross. It was drenched in some white sauce and had no flavor at all. Most of the items aren’t available on the menu. The website is a very outdated menu. The owner is horrible. Accuses staff of stealing money then takes their whole paycheck to “repay” him back. Was told by other staff that he has personal problems and legal issues and tries to find ways to get money by taking staffs money and tips to pay for his debts... I see they are temporarily closed. They need to get new ownership or fix the joke they have now... also the food.

One of the worst customer service experiences I’ve encountered! Strongly advise anyone curious about this new Frederick restaurant to take their business elsewhere. The waitress made a mistake with the pricing on the daily specials. Therefore, our bill was nearly double the price we expected. We requested that the manager honor the pricing that was provided the entire evening, but he vehemently denied the request. In fact, he was rude and abrasive and stated that we were at fault. The manager went on to explain that instead of trusting the pricing provided by the wait staff, we should have checked the pricing online before coming into the restaurant. This is no way to treat new and interested customers, especially for a newly established restaurant. Don’t waste your time here.

Not sure how new this restaurant is, but their staff need some trainings. First, there was no hostess. At least 3 people came to ask us if we had been helped while we were waiting for our table. Lots of seats available but we still needed to wait 15 to 20 minutes (I didn't think those seats were reserved either since there weren't new people walking in before us, and only one group of 7 arrived when we were done with our meal). When we were seated, no napkins and no utensils were on the table. We had to ask our waitress to bring those to us when some of us were done with the drinks. They kept refilling the chips and salsa, but honestly, those chips weren't that tasty. The actual food/menu items were good at least, and staff were very friendly. Has some potentials and hopefully their service will improve after the proper training.
