El Charro Negro

Heard that this was a good spot of some delicious Mexican food and I am here to say it was outstanding. Just got the fish tacos and a side of beans and rice. Generous amounts of succulent fish topped with onions, cilantro, lettuce tomatoes and cheese nestled in fresh warm corn tortillas. Both the salsas where spot on. Beans seasoned just right and a generous helping of rice as well. Can’t wait to go back.

All of the good reviews are from people who have never been south of the border. Food is not horrid, but it is not good by any means. Consider other restaurants in the area, or roll the dice. Who knows, if you don't know what it is supposed to be, you might like it. To be fair, I have tried 5 places in the area to hit the Mexican food craving on the head, none of them have been a place I would return to.

I'm not saying that this is the best mexican place I've ate at. But, the inside looks so much better than what it looks like outside. Came on a Tuesday night, was empty except for delivery people coming in and out. They do $6 for 3 tacos here (excluding fish and shrimp) from Mon-Wed I believe it was, and attached are some photos of that and their chimichangas. Bill was about $30 for 3 people. We were overstuffed. The food felt like home cooking, wasn't fancy or anything. But the meat actually tasted good. It was season pretty well and went well with everything else. Really good value for money. Plus - free margarita for a $15 bill !

I love this place. The food is always fresh, service is quick, and the prices are more than reasonable. I almost always go for the tacos here. They are all great but I usually go with shrimp, Al pastor, chorizo, and carnitas. Never been disappointed, I seem to find myself here at least once a week.
