Stopped in for take out for three of us. Service was fast and efficient, they even brought my chips to me when I left them on the counter. They could be friendlier, but they were busy on a Sunday afternoon. I had a small Reuben, Kristin had a cheese steak, and Meredith had turkey and provolone. The sandwiches were served fairly quickly. If you are looking for a quick bite, the small makes a nice snack, but only a large will only satisfy a big, hungry fella. The freshly cut fries were cooked to perfection- hot and delicious. The bread is dense, like a fried yeast ball. and the meat needs more seasoning. Not the best, but not the worst. If you found this review helpful please click like.
So tonight I decided to try something new at Penn Station. I'd previously only had a Reuben or cheese steak sandwich. So I saw the Dagwood and thought all those meats sounded good. So I ordered a grilled Dagwood with Mayo and mustard. The nice young man behind the counter verified that I wanted Mayo and mustard only. Yes I said. So my families food comes out slowly, one sandwich at a time. Mine is last by about 5 minutes. Low and behold it's a bun with only Mayo and mustard. I asked if he really thought I paid $9.49 for a bun with Mayo and mustard, yes he said. To his credit they remade it with all the meats listed as I thought it came. Lesson learned.
Food and service was amazing despite the gaggle of Karens and their army of 500 children clad in soccer shirts making the experience loud and miserable. Great psychological birth control though. The staff handled the experience better than I did. Kudos.
We chose this place to get a light bite to eat in between heavy meals..
we appreciate it and enjoyed the small size sub sandwiches..
we'll have to find the closest one to us back home in Dallas.. sandwiches were also reasonably priced..
