Franklin Abbey

The food here is delicious, and the atmosphere is awesome! I love places like this. Unfortunately, though, both times I have been here the service was horrible. Both times, me and and my family were one of the only few tables in the restaurant. It wasn’t busy at all. I had a different server both times, and each time they were the only server in the whole place. (Also acting as bartender) It was not crowded though, so this shouldn’t be a huge problem. The service was sooo slow, and the server messed up on some part of my order both times, and neither one of the servers had a personality at all. My drink was completely empty today for at least 15 minutes before we finally got the servers attention and I asked for a refill. The time before that...mine and my sisters food got cold waiting for drink refills that took forever. Basically...this place has SO much potential!! The atmosphere and design is beautiful and fun and the food is great. They just really need to train their servers, or staff more people.

This place is in the midst of changing it's concept, so the ambience is not quite there yet. Coffee concept hasn't begun construction yet. Family friendly (3 families with kids here). Pub has a UK feel. Food is great! Fish and chips rock! I'll be back to check it's transformational progress and to see my daughter, Ashley who is the bar manager here now.

The only thing that held me back from this place was the smoking. It was strong when you walked in the door, and you smelled like it if you chose to eat inside. Now that they've cleaned it, it's great. No sign of it. The food and specials were always great, and that did not change. Not many places offer the large portions for their prices. The specials are really good deals. Very hard to beat their fish and chips anywhere in middle TN. Highly recommend.

I visit here when I'm in town for work. It's full of locals, but that's a good thing because they're all friendly and welcoming. I'd say I'm neutral on the food (only ate there twice), but the drinks are made well and the bartenders are good. Plenty of games to play and good music. Overall great atmosphere.
