This place is amazing and a true gem. Everything we had to celebrate Oktoberfest were delicious, and service was great. They just renovated the patio, which looks beautiful and accommodating. We’ve been here twice already and plan to come back many more times. There are so many items to try. Ask them about Chef Klaus’ story, fun fact he came from Frankfort, Germany!
I had the jalapeno pork chop special. My wife had the swiss carbon chicken. Both were delicious. The atmosphere even without the live music was great. Loved the accordion, french horn, and especially the bells! Edelweiss forever!
Recommend!
It was packed. Thankfully had reservations. Service a bit slow but that’s how it is. Better that because they we’re swamped. Food was really great and portions huge. Really good place. Worth the trip.
I don't know where to start. First off, the decor and feel of this place is right out of mud 20th Century Bavaria. Tons of historical German memorabilia here. A historians wet dream! I lived it!
Michael our server was TOP NOTCH! He helped us with menu choices and his knowledge of the menu was very helpful. I had Liver Dumpling Soup and the "Gypsy Steak". The portions were HUGE but everything was amazing. I topped it off with a delicious pint of their Amber Beer and I was done! I took more than half of the food home (yes there was that much) and enjoyed for lunch the next day.
I spent $117 for two HUGE plates of food (the steak was huge), appetizers, dessert, and drinks. It was worth every penny. EVERY PENNY!!! Anytime I'm back in Town I'll be paying Chef Klaus' Bier Stube a visit. A fun and delicious experience.
PS - The live German music was a great touch as well. And if you want the duck, it's only on weekends and get their early! ~ Gus
Was a great dinner date. The ambiance was awesome...from helicopters,WWII planes and various guns hanging from the ceiling there was authentic l knick knacks and other ethnic decoratives....staff super friendly, food plentiful and tasty! Fun fun atmosphere !!
Best meal I’ve ever had, period. Reuben, Jager Schnitzel w/Swiss cheese, German potato salad, red cabbage, potato pancakes and strudel. Best I’ve had. I have no doubt this is served in heaven.
If you have a hankering for German food, this is THE place to go! We got there early on a Friday before the dinner rush (I highly recommend reservations!) and were seated in this cute little cubby hole of a room to ourselves. My first thought was, "What a darling place to make a marriage proposal!" LoL! Our waiter (who was delightful, though I didn't get his name) was right there to take our drink order and make appetizer suggestions. We got the stuffed mushrooms but the filling was so full we made a meal of the REAL crabmeat filling and wondered after a while where the mushrooms were and they were buried underneath! Again, LoL! I ordered the sauerbraten with spätzle and it was delicious! Red cabbage was too, though the sauerkraut my partner had was really SOUR. Again again, LoL! Soup or salad is included and I had the French onion soup which was to die for! Whole dedicated beer menu if you like beer (well it IS called a Bier Stube!!!) There was a young family with kids who were seated in the cubby room across from us and the kids looked like they had a blast! The live oom pahpah band was the icing on the cake! Great place, highly recommend! You may still be in the southwest suburbs of Chicago but, trust me, you'll feel like you're in the middle of Münich!
