Union Straw

Stopped here for lunch while randomly in town due to reviews and was not disappointed. Started with the dry rub wings (side of Korean BBQ) and ranch which was perfect. Then had the smash burger with truffle fries and chicken and waffles. Burger and fries were another hit but sadly a miss on the waffle and fries. The waffle was glazed so it was almost like a donut crusted which was too sweet for me. The tenders were good though. Lastly did the chocolate book which was …. Chocolate. It is not frosting on top it is actually pudding which was different. One app, one dessert and two entrees for $75. Would have liked a little cheaper but it was good!

The food and cocktails are delicious. Our pork belly appetizer is not only a showstopper but tastes wonderful, it is worth mentioning they provide the right serving utensils! The pork was tender inside and caramelized outside, delicious. For an entree I had the Atlantic salmon and it too was seared perfectly (chefs suggestion medium), and served with a broccoli slaw and potatoes. The plate is delicious. The banana cake is worth it after dinner, it is a proper layer cake, with light neiuanced flavor, not big and bold, a great end to the meal.

I cannot wait to come back here! We had brunch at the bar our waitress was AMAZING. Everyone was so nice . We ordered the house quiche to start with , I got Brunch punch to drink and my boyfriend got Bourbon breakfast. The drinks were so good ! We ordered biscuits and gravy & huevos rancheros and it was so delicious ! We got the apple crisp & I had wanted the Bonuts but they were all out so I had a blood orange tart. The food was so delicious ! Thank you to the staff for being so nice !

Dinner- Nice rustic atmosphere, pleasant server. Menu has great offerings but it isn't huge which might be a challenge to those with several diet restrictions, however there appears to be specials at times. Food was nicely plated. Truffle parmesan fries 😋 shrimp tacos-shrimp was cooked just right, rice was kinda of spicy. Chicken and waffles were tasty too - get the buff sauce on the side. Navigation tip: approach slowly, you will probably drive right by the parking lot.

Have been waiting a long time to try out Union straw after seeing a bunch of posts on Instagram from their Chef, Dan Lane. We were able to make a reservation for two and went on a Monday night, it wasn't too busy. They have a really beautiful space and you definitely feel safe as everything is distanced. The chef is incredible. They had a salmon spring roll special running for the appetizer and we just had to try it! I wouldn't have thought salmon and seaweed would go so well together but it was absolutely incredible. We tried a bunch of other stuff, candied pork belly, shrimp and alligator chorizo, Mac and cheese and the prime rib. I would say the prime rib is a must. The portion is huge and the meat literally melts in your mouth. Ended off with the strawberry shortcake which was also absolutely divine and not too sweet. Union straw is a bit of a drive for us but I will absolutely be back.

We stopped in on a Monday night to avoid the crowd and sat at the bar. The vibe is chill, and they have plenty of TVs and the bar area was very long which was nice. The bartender Brandon was awesome and served us great food and drinks and offered his recommendations. I had the spicy Kama Jama Chicken sandwich with the regular fries and I was not disappointed.

I came to Union Straw for the first time for lunch on Saturday afternoon and I absolutely loved it! Our waitress Claudia was amazing. She was so warm and friendly. I had the Pan Seared Salmon which was absolutely delicious along with the Tito's Strawberry lemonade and a pumpkin martini. I will most definitely be going back soon to try the fall menu!
