LOVE this cafe!!! First time coming here, it's a tradition for my dad to bring his mom here after he visits (we're from PA) and during a cross country road trip with my dad the 3 of us stopped here. The atmosphere is such a vibe, the place is loaded with history and just a really cool little cafe. I ordered the churro waffles and GET IN MY BELLY!!! Will forever come back here when visiting Illinois

We love this place! A great breakfast spot for the family. When they get busy the wait times can be a little longer but the wait staff is always amazing and friendly. The biscuits and gravy are phenomenal, and the kids love the pancakes with the whip cream. The lunch food items are great as well, love the gyros.

Our server was Gabe. She was very attentive and helpful. We ordered dessert. The coconut cream pie was excellent. The restaurant is adorable.

Stopped for Breakfast, it was our first time here. Super friendly staff. My husband got the 2 eggs, ham off the bone hash browns and a pancake. I got a full order of Biscuits and gravy and we split. Everything was delicious, especially the Ham! We also had Bloody Mary, spicy but good!!

A varied menu from the usual breakfast fare. I had the churro waffle. If you like cinnamon then this dish is for you. Tried other items from group I was with and everything was top notch. Our server Diane went so far as to ask how I like bacon cooked. Crispy or regular. That kind of detail is what is lacking in most restaurants

We’ve eaten here many times and it’s always amazing food and service! Food always tastes fresh and comes out so quickly. Kelley our server was lovely and we can’t wait to come back to see her!! Also the hostess was so welcoming and friendly. Her name is Joanna and she has an amazing personality that just makes you want to keep coming back!

I had the Red Rooster. It was probably one of the best breakfast skillets that I have ever had! Everyone enjoyed their meals. And the service was top notch. Our son lives in this area and the next time we visit, we will have to come back to the Whistle Stop!!

I ate at the Whistle Stop Café for the first time a couple of days ago, and was very happy with my food. I ordered one of the specials (listed on the board in front of you as you enter) and it was great - eggs, bacon, and red velvet pancakes with strawberries. I finished it all, but couldn't eat any more - the perfect amount! We also got a carafe of apple juice to share, and both kids and my wife were all happy with their meals. No complaints, and they were busy when we were there, but we didn't have to wait long for our food at all. Recommended!
