Review Campisi's Restaurant - Fort Worth

If you are in the mood for great Italian food, great service with a light atmosphere, stop on by Campisi's. The Pasta Combo Plate is a great sample of what they have. Great taste hot, and fast service. I have been here for about 15 minutes, and the waitress has come by 5 times as well as the manager to make sure things are good. I'm going to add this to my favorites. Well worth the 25-minute drive to get here!!! The Italian Creme cake for desert was the perfect end to the dinner journey!

Good food. The sampler and the chicken parmeson were good. They are covered in tomato sauce and cheese. The meet balls appetizer was also good. Staff was friendly, and Sunday night wasn't busy. Good atmosphere, leans towards to upscale.

Ordered dinner for work and I was pleased. The chicken marsala, garlic, cheese bread and artichoke hearts were very tasty. ❤️❤️

When we arrived we were told there was a 30 min wait ( with 6 empty table) due to kitchen being backed up. When we finally got seated, our waiter Jesse was awesome. He got drinks, bread, orders and salads out right away. He was attentive, fast, correct orders. Overall made up for the long wait! Salad and bread were excellent. Entre was good but not great. Husband ordered a spicy dish, but had no spice at all just the usual pink sauce like my dish that was not supposed to be spicy, maybe because they were in a rush from the back up.

Very short staffed. But the food is amazing ... Makes up for it. Awesome array of food . Pizza ..pasta .. lasagna .. bruschetta.. baked artichokes.. cakes. And more .. thank you!

My guy and I were absolutely blown away by Campisi’s. We went here on a whim yesterday and the outside is completely unassuming for the experience you get inside. The ambiance was phenomenal, a full bar, a nice dark and moody setting, candlelight, the decor was super cozy but still lots of space. This place sets the bar for how a restaurant should feel. I felt so welcome here. Now the food? Also phenomenal. The pink sauce has this kiss of heat to it, the chicken was tender as can be and not a spot of grissle. The red sauce was so fresh tasting like they just went and picked the tomatoes to make it before serving us. The bread has the perfect crust and is soft as pillow inside. I can’t recommend this experience enough. This is ideal for a romantic date night or sharing a pizza while watching the big game over a beer. The drink menu goes on and on- you just can’t go wrong with Campisi’s!

Was a great little place. Went for a school fundraiser. Nice to see a place still supporting school fundraisers. Started with the artichoke hearts. Offered a fantastic smell and was pretty good. The kids had pizza and the Alfredo fettuccine. Was really amazed at the pizza. Perfectly cooked with a wonderfully crispy crust. Alfredo was good as well. Main course was the combo platter and the eggplant Primavera. Both were fantastic! Waitress suggested a bottle of wine to accompany dinner. Excellent choice. Monday and Tuesday are half price bottles of wine so worth a visit. Plan on going and trying this place several more times.

First time at Campisi's. The restaurant was quite dark and loud. The service was great. I ordered the Pasta Combo Dinner with red sauce and Alfredo. The salad was overly cheesy and oniony, Alfredo seemed more like a white sauce and the lasagna and spaghetti were drenched in sauce. The restaurant was full so maybe I just got an off plate...

Great service and delicious food. The cheese bread was amazing. Tuesdays is $8.95 spaghetti and 1/2 price wine. Nice atmosphere and the Italian creme cake was as good as Eatzi.

Went to the Camp Bowie Fort Worth Location fantastic experience here just as in Dallas. Waiters working their tails off and still honest great service while busy. Crab Claws and Pizza. Grew up with it, drove in from Houston for business lunch and Campisis just never disappoints.

We were there for my brother's birthday. The waiter was sweet but slow as heck. Food wasn't really that good. I do like their pizza.

Prices seemed a little high until we got our food and saw the portions. We could have easily split one lunch order and been stuffed. I had the sampler. Loved the red sauce. Lasagna and spaghetti were both very good. The service was excellent.

We drove to this area to eat at a favorite of ours- The Blu Crab- only to find out it is closed!! We have several memories attached to this place so we were so disappointed to see the restaurant vacated! We decided to go across the street to Campisi ‘s, having had a good experience there once. We had calamari which was excellent, a salad and a gluten-free pizza. All were delicious, and delivered to us promptly and courteously by an excellent server-I wish I had her name. Thank you for a great experience, we have already recommended your restaurant to others and will return soon. Building new memories in a nice quaint part of town.. delicious !

Very nice restaurant. We did my mom's 80 birthday party here they were extremely nice and we had a nice table and it is excellent food.

This is the best Campisi’s that I have been to. I jave been to the downtown Dallas location, Lovers Lane location, the very first location in East Dallas and now Fort Worth. The ambiance at Fort Worth is the best. The food was excellent and Jeremiah was very personable and attentive. Will definitely be back and definitely recommend to all. I had the bruschetta and lasagna with marinara.

Food was good. Service a little weird in that we seemed to have been chastised for asking for bread with our salads. Last time our waiter brought us bread plus olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Okay--so you don't bring bread if someone orders pizza--so how about crackers--like at the Egyptian? Felt like we were corrected for wanting food at a restaurant. How much did those four little crusts cost you? 25 cents? Also, I guess if we had been hollering like all the 'people' in the bar it would have been tolerated. Totally different attitude than Mockingbird. No likey. Do better. Make your customers happy.

Food was above average, I would go again. I ordered the shrimp scampi but I also wanted to try the lasagna. I asked our server if they had a side portion or something smaller so I could get it along with my scampi. His reply was "No". He never offered to check and see if there was something he could do. I said, "So if I also want lasagna I have to order an additional meal"? His reply was "that's your only option" I was not very happy with how that was dealt with.

Service and food was completely satisfactory. The environment was nice and mellow. My diet consist of being plant based and they had options even accomadated by changing up an option on the menu. Will definitely visit again when in the area.

Wow, just Wow! My first visit to Campisi's. (I really don't know how that happened, I've lived just south of FW all my life!) Met family there for my birthday dinner. I mentioned to our waiter that it was our first time there, and he brought us 2 complimentary appetizers to welcome us! Dinner was amazing - I had the lasagna - you can tell it's homemade and authentic. Then he must have overheard us talking about my bday, and the manager brought out a dessert complete with candle burning. Now that is awesome customer service! I have a new fav restaurant!

Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere. I expected the Godfather to come walking in any moment. Our server Mark was right on top of things. He gladly brought us all the extra bread we wanted. And it was really good!

We went with a group of about 20 people and the service and food were excellent. Our waitress was outstanding. All the food orders were right and drinks, water, coffee and tea glasses were taken care of before they got empty. Thanks for a great evening

The calamari and lasagna were the best I have had! Campisi’s just became one of my favorite restaurants it town!

Was excited about trying this place cause I heard it was so good. Our waitress was not very tentative. With so many staff running around you would think we would have better service. The food was not impressive Not very flavorful or presentation . Over priced !!!

Excellent service, excellent food; lasagna and chicken fettuccine Alfredo and cheesy bread!!! YUM YUM! Delicious wine list too! We will be back!
Renae Latham Cobb
The food is amazing, they are very family friendly, and the staff make you feel like family! The pizza is delicious, and the wines are great too! I wish I could remember our waitress's name, she was so nice, good sense of humor (especially with our kids), and really seemed to enjoy what she was doing...that I think is what creates such a welcome and family feeling atmosphere, this place is authentic from the food to the service! Eat here you'll love it!!

My waitress was not friendly. The food at best was only fair. I was pretty disappointed.
Rachel Zimmerman Cupps
1 hour later. no meal. screaming toddler. After asking where our meal was.. lost ticket. The 7 tables full on a Wednesday night must be the culprit. The food is always good, but tonight set a new low.

My wife and I love this restaurant. Excellent food and service. Great atmosphere. I would highly recommend.

We celebrate our anniversary/Valentine's Day here every year and we are never disappointed! I love the combo pasta plate and my husband loves the beef ravioli.

It's was so good and had a great waiter...the atmosphere and the music was amazing I thoroughly enjoyed myself

My dad and I went there for lunch today and it was our first time there, everything was absolutely amazing! The bread and drinks came out right away and our food didn't take too long either, pepperoni pizza was great and the lasagna was fantastic! Could tell it was home made for sure. Our waiter was impeccable. Can't remember his name, EJ (maybe?), but best service we've had out in a very long time!! Visiting with (im assuming she was) the manager that came out was refreshing too, very friendly and made sure everything was going great for us. Amazing staff all around! Will definitely be back!

We sat at the bar tonight. (8/24) the young lady was a HORRIBLE bartender and server! I had always heard that Campisi’s had a “no phone” policy. She was busy texting on her phone so service was slow. She was slow to get drinks. She got my drink wrong, twice. The second was still not right but I went ahead and took it anyway. She worried more about keeping her sloppy sweater pulled off of her shoulder than she did her customers!! I love your food Campisi’s, but this kind of service is why your restaurant in Lubbock didn’t make it! Uuugggg!

Good service. Very poor quality food. Save yourself, save your money. This software wants more letters in its reviews. So, the software wears women’s underwater to work and his sister like women.

Real Let Down!. Used to frequent the location in Dallas for pizza with the kids. Moved back after 7 years and decided I needed to visit the FW location. It was a Sunday and we decided to do take out instead of dine in. The lasagna was not very tasty, the salad was nothing more than ice berg lettuce, an olive and a pepper. No bread whatsoever, and they charged us .50 to get the dressing on the side. Not the Campisi's I remembered.
Dennit1963
The restaurant is beautiful, the ambiance is surely Italian but the food lacked flavor, especially the spaghetti and meatballs?? ...lacked flavor and salt, the meaballs were very bland and cold...highly disappointed. im not one to complain, but, this lunch was for the bird's ...i was unhappy seeing that it was my first time there.

Good food poor management.

Manager would only honor gift certificate for one time visit. Noticeably annoyed at his server when she took it to him and annoyed with me for asking why. Neither of them explained why. Certificate from Gary Patterson Foundation, which "...is dedicated to the support of economically disadvantaged children."

How is it funded? by the donations of philanthropic Fort Worth residents motivated to contribute through drawings and raffles of items donated by local businesses. Apparently Campisi's did so involuntarily since they after-the-fact denied the certificate.

Long story short: don't buy any gift certificates there and know going in that $37 is more important than integrity and service.

Easy with the poor reviews folks.....it ain't that bad!!. My wife and I dated many times at the Egyptian back in the 80's (before she was my wife!!). The place was great and we always loved it. After we married and moved to moved to Fort Worth it became a real hassle to go - such a long drive with bad traffic for just one dinner - so we almost never go now. I was excited to learn there was a Campisi's opening only 15 miles from home and was really looking forward to a visit. Well, it took almost 2 years before we went, because we believed the poor reviews. We finally went, I had the combo plate (as usual) and she had a small pizza. It was just like we remembered.

We've been back twice and have no complaints about the food, but the servers need some help. We've been 3 times total and had a server related "error" all three times. Not once was a discount offered. For example, we ordered Joe's Special Garlic Toast "with the meal". It didn't come out with the dinner plates and we had to remind the server. He was nice and apologized, but it didn't come out til we were almost done. Most places would have comp'ed it immediately without a word. Not at Campisi's in Fort Worth...Full Price!! I blame management for that. If management can empower and encourage their servers to give discounts when something is screwed up, then I would be loving this place.

Very noisy, fast paced eatery with below average food.. This sit down restaurant runs at fast food speed. And talk about loud. It was almost as noisy as a sports bar during a championship game.

We ordered the fried calamari as a starter. The wife liked them, but I thought they were bland and most were overcooked, so she ate them as a main course. The marinara sauce was nothing special either.

I had the Original Shrimp Scampi with angel hair pasta. The shrimp were properly prepared, but their "special garlic butter sauce" was not special. It was bland. The pasta, while al dente, had not been cooked in salted water.

Our first visit to Campisi's will be our only visit.

Sometimes you can't go by what the rating is. You have to say, "You know what? I'm going against the flow and I'm going to try this place. Look at all the people here!" That's what I did. I've gone to the Original Campisi's, (The Egyptian) on Mockingbird in Dallas a few years ago and I liked them a lot. I really like thick crust pizzas, but occasionally a thinner crust one hits the spot. There's less carbs yet big flavor.

I ordered the medium Chicken Spinach Alfredo Pizza. It is an oval shaped pizza, not really square, and in this case was a 10" x 14". Besides those toppings it had smoked provolone cheese. The small pizzas are 6" x10" and I didn't think that was going to do it for me today, because all I had this morning was one apricot (1 1/2" diameter). (The large pizza is 12" x 16.) That and an iced tea was all that I was going to need.

I was seated on a barstool at a small raised table right in front of a big screen TV tuned to the Texas Rangers game. The digs are really nice, calm easy lighting, even for afternoon and soft chatter of patrons at nearby tables. There is also outside seating in front of Campisi's, and there were a few people sitting there when I arrived and upon leaving. The backlit bar was beautiful. Several people were having their lunch at the bar watching the game.

In less than fifteen minutes my pizza was up, and I couldn't wait to bite into it. This pizza was good. The grilled chicken was a great foil to the smooth, smoky provolone cheese. The cheese was warm--a stringy, gooey mess. The spinach with it's grassy flavor was perfect in its inclusion on the crispy, thin crust. I should've saved some to take home. Nah!!

If I were in a hurry, I could say service was a little slow. But I wasn't. I got a refill on my tea. That's all I needed. My server brought the check and I gave her my credit card simultaneously, and it was only five minutes later that I was out of there.

Campisi's is a nice change of pace. Business seems to be doing great--at least for lunch, so they apparently have a lot of fans. If you haven't tried them yet, please do!

Not all the hype. I have to say, after hearing how great this place was, I was excited to try it. Brandy, our server was really great, and very attententive, but she was the highlight. We ordered half an order of Calamari, it was decent, but far too over seasoned and over cooked, it took over the taste of the calamari. The salad was good, and when I ordered the shrimp scampi, I was told it was one of the top the best, so I was excited. It was very oily, and very bland. No taste, no garlic waves of deliciousness, just bland and oily. Brandy got me the combo, and just as my husband said the meatballs were just not good. The sauce was like a river over our food, and was over whelming. It drowned everything, and overwhelmed all the taste of the ravioli and lasagna. The marinara used tasted still from a can, but doctored up with too much seasoning. I am part sicilian and raised old world, this is NOT what my mama or my grammy would have put on the table. My husband asked for garlic bread, he got texas toast with garlic powder sprinkled...as I said Brandy was sweet and gracious, and the atmosphere was beautiful, the atmosphere gave me the impression of better quality food. It's pizzaria food in a nice atmosphere, not worth the money. I would have to say the cooks need to revisit the original recipes, as I am sure that they have deviated away from what was original, this was not memorable.

Better than I expected. I'm a fan of the original Egyptian location but was not impressed by their previous fort worth venture on I20. The pizza was as perfect as its always been and we have had great service each trip. Its not quite as dark as the original location but still retains a lot of the feel of mockingbird while updating the decor to fit the locale. I'll be back as much as possible!
Kellie
I was not impressed. My chicken was overcooked and the pasta was drowning in sauce. I expected so much more seeing as so many people love campisis. Honestly, I thought Olive Garden does a better chicken Parmesan! How can you screw that up?! We won't be back.

Another Westside Flop!. Poor food. Slow service. Space too cramped to enjoy meal. Noisy. Too pricy for quality of food offerings.Waiting area is outside in weather. Parking is inadequate. Restaurant is dark and handicap-unfriendly.
Caninegirl2
Very disappointing. With all the hype about this restaurant, we tried it. Even though we were the only people in the dining room, it was hard to get service. The servers were congregated first at a rear booth, then at the front desk. The atmosphere is great in a bar, but loud rock music is not what I like to hear I want to relax and have dinner. The food was terribly disappointing! I only ate a small amount. We're planning on going across the street for now on.

We will not be returning. It was very poor service with a even pourer pasta. Do recommend
