Review Mi Cocina - Fort Worth

Our waitress Norma did a great job, went there because I saw the chicken poblano enchiladas….. they were ok, nothing to rave about, more a sour cream based sauce than a cheese base….. I can’t figure out why restaurants in Texas don’t have sweet tea, almost makes it non Texan hahaha…. Anyway chips and salsa was great, wife enjoyed her cheese enchiladas although something she ate has trace amounts of MSG of some form because she had a reaction to it. It’s a nice place but just not for us especially if she can’t eat it due to the MSG, I have a feeling it maybe in a seasoning used in the salsa.

We are regulars at Mi Cocina. Both this location and the Southlake location. Service is always great and the food delicious. They probably have some of my favorite chips and salsa of anywhere. Some drink favorites here are “The Dilemma” and “The Mambo Taxi”. Our favorite dish is the brisket tacos and add some bean soup.

This was our first visit to Mi Cocina, and we had an average dining experience. The food was excellent; the hostess wasn’t overly friendly, but not rude, and our waitress was unorganized, but it was a pleasant experience all-in-all. We enjoyed our entrées. They immediately bring out complimentary chips and salsa. If you do not care for spicy food, be careful with their salsa. It runs on the hotter side from our dining experience. I couldn’t eat it because it was so spicy. My husband enjoyed it, but he did comment that it was a hotter salsa for him as well. And if you love a spicy salsa for your chips, this one is for you. For an appetizer, we tried their queso, the Queso Blanco and the Chili Con Queso. Both were fantastic. For my entrée, I had the Poblano Chicken Enchiladas, two chicken enchiladas with Poblano Crema served with refried beans and rice, which was fabulous. I did not have any complaints about that dish and enjoyed it. My husband ordered the Crispy Chicken “Enchiladas Verdes,” two chicken enchiladas topped with Salsa Verde y Crema served with refried beans and rice, which he enjoyed as well. I cannot give them a 5-Star review due to the customer service because it wasn’t 5-Star customer service from the hostess to the waitress and the atmosphere was a little cold to me, but the food was excellent. Not a terrible experience, but not an excellent one, either. Try them. Their food is delicious.

I recently made a trip to Fort Worth TX. I stopped in at this amazing Mexican restaurant. The food was great. I loved their chicken taco salad. The manager Vickie came to the table to ask how the food was. She is very polite and professional. I really wish we had a restaurant this nice back in Tennessee

Every Mi Cocina I've been to I have been impressed not only with the quality but consistency of the food, and the service. Each location looked slightly different but always had a similar atmosphere and well maintained and friendly staff. Ribeye Asada, Tacos Habana, and the Queso and all great choices but you probably can't go wrong with anything you choose to order.

Visited again while in the area. The waiter Hector was amazing, super attentive, and a pleasure to deal with. Food was a little off this time, seemed like it was lacking a bit of flavor. Overall still worth the trip, mambo taxis are awesome!

This location has fantastic customer service. Food is great as well! My husband and I enjoy coming here regularly.

Visiting during the week was peaceful but lax. Upon our arrival, we weren't greeted immediately, but that was soon remedied through Mi Cocina's customer service. We ordered two Ceviche de Camarones (Verde; and Pineapple and Jicama), #10 Two Pork Picoso Tamales, and the "Mi Cocina" Margarita. All of the food we ordered were good, but one of them takes first place—the Ceviche de Camarones (Pineapple and Jicama). This dish was packed with flavors and was filling. In comparison to the Verde, the Pineapple and Jicama one wins by a mile, so if you're torn between the two, definitely choose the Pineapple and Jicama. As for the #10 from the lunch menu, it was alright. There wasn't anything that truly stood out. Nothing was too special about the drink either. As for the customer service, it was a bit odd. We were initially greeted by a lady, but she never really came around to getting our orders, so another server served us. He, on the other hand, made sure we were taken care of which made the experience a lot better because the environment overall was a bit odd. Overall, I'm unsure if I'd visit this location again. It seemed quiet, but it was too relaxed and the food was just 'good'—it wasn't the same as before, and I've been here a couple of times (this was the first Mi Cocina location I've ever visited).

We love going to Mi Cocina! The atmosphere is great especially on the back patio when you have kids! Then if you go ask for Paul, he’s the best server we’ve had! The salsa, food, and chocolate tres leches is amazing!!!

Food was good, service was prompt, it was very slow which made us question our choice. The beef fajitas would have been better if we had been asked how we wanted it prepared. Salsa was good but I prefer a different style of chip.

My family and i traveled in an after a day of shopping around we stopped in and had some food. Everything at Mi Cocina was delicious. The service was excellent, and Vickie was the best. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. Keep up the good work and Great Job Vickie!!

I came to visit family and went here for dinner and had a great experience. We had good food and I've never went somewhere where a manager came out and check to see how everything was. The mangers name was Vicki she was so pleasant to talk to. She ask us if we needed anything. You have a good Manager in her.

We had exceptional service from Paul. He was friendly without being overly friendly and was very attentive. Tacos de brisket were amazing.

I always ask for Maria. She is an absolutely AMAZING server!! She is friendly, attentive and remembers everyone’s order. Always a great experience with her.

Went to Mi Cocina Alliance for my birthday. I was greeted by a very friendly host staff and got greeted right away. I took my baby and my Server was absolutely wonderful! Maria took good care and made sure my babies food came out first and fast . She made sure to keep our drinks up and she suggested the shrimp brochettes, that btw were amazing! Great drinks , great staff and attentive management I believe her name was Ava? Came to greet us and ask if we needed anything. Bathrooms also were very clean.

People raved about this place so I stopped and had an early dinner. I got a chicken taco dish and started off with guacamole. The guacamole needed salt. I mean nothing in it. Some folks might like that no salt was added but to me it brings out the avacado flavor. So I added salt and all was well. The tacos had good tasting chicken in them but that was it. Corn tortillas and chicken. Nothing exciting. I will say service was great and the place is very nice. Maybe next time I'll find a hole in the wall.

Someone mentioned the chips being "just right". They reminded me of the $2.00 per bag of Calidads you buy at the grocery store. Salsa was ok. Queso?? Uh, watered down Velveta with MAYBE some green chilies. We ordered it with brisket added and I'm sure that was extra. I'm sorry but one tablespoon (maybe) does NOT constitute brisket. My chicken fajita tacos were good, nothing spectacular. What DID save the day was our server. People rave about this place. Personally I think it's over rated and I imagine this post will be deleted. Oh well

Ken is awesome! Such great service! We have visited many time and we enjoy the outdoor space and happy hour specials. Bring the kids and enjoy a great dinner!

We came here after a day at Six Flags. This is our usual stop on the way back home but this time was awful. We entered restaurant and requested patio seating since we had kids, and a party of 10....there were people on patio but we were told they would not seat us out there. So we agreed to sit inside, we sat down and waited 15 mins for table inside, with only 5 tables dining total in the entire place. The hostess told our waitress we were her table and she said "of course I get stuck with them". Do what?!?! The only reason we did not leave then is because it was now 9:20 and everyone was starving. Sat down and the waitress actually threw each of our napkins down and never looked up at us once! We order our food and she comes back out and says we are out of rice, what do y'all want?? I'm amazed by this point. We eat, pay, are walking out and the manager has actually been standing at the the table next to us the entire time LETTING this happen. That will be the last time we ever eat here! Food is great but customer service not so much!!!!

I love their enchiladas! And I've been in there a few times recently and had a young lady (Natalia) as my server, at the Alliance Town Center location, and i will request her section going forward! Professional and personable service both times!

Probably won’t come here again , very pricey and the food was not great. I slipped in my way out and the manager said I slipped in the tea that was in the floor - uh duh.

The food was ok but I have had better. The waitress kept telling us how busy she was. That's why we hadn't received our chips and salsa. The chips tasted like from a bag from the grocery store.

Great patio for kids! I've been eating at various Mi Cocina locations since I moved to Dallas and I love it! Always good food and the Mambo Taxis are legend!!

Stopped in for apps and drinks before an event. Nachos mi Tierra were recommended and were awesome! The poblano cream sauce was great. Pretty darn good sangria, too!!!

My husband and I stopped at Mi Cocina after church for dinner. The experience was great! The moment we walked in...we were greeted by 3 smiling faces! They took our names and stated it would be 5 or 10 minutes. But in less than 5 minutes we were seated. The service was great! Our server was very attentive & the food was delicious. The manager came by our table to check on us and chatted a bit. Thank you Mi Cocina for a great dining experience!
