Mojito was well made. Service was great. Got the special fajitas to share. It was plenty for 2. The quail were an excellent treat. Next time, I’ll just get those.
Family friendly and casual, just relax and enjoy a great meal.
My family are so happy to have discovered this restaurant in our area. The food is always wonderful! We choose something new all the time and yet to be dissapointed. Steak, chicken, fish or just appetizers the food is always great. We make a point to go every week -it's one place we all agree on!
I always believe that Fajitas are a good litmus test for Tex Mex. Guess what? They have INCREDIBLE Fajitas! Margaritas are strong and restaurant is clean. The wait can be quite long though. I recommend showing up early.
The food is really good. The only problem I have is that there is no consistency in their hours of operation. They close 9:30 during the week, 10:00 on saturdays and 9:00 on sundays. I have never seen a restaurant with such sporadic hours. I went on a sunday at 9:20 to find them closed. I wish they would stay open till 10:00 7 days a week. So disappointed.
Great food and service. I had the Pastor plate and it was a lot of good food. If you leave hungry you have issues. I highly recommend stoping in and having a great meal.
Average. The chips and salsa are pretty good however their entree's are average. I love their sopapillas. Friendly wait staff, great service however I've had better mexican food in California.
Awesome Food. We don't need to look any further for great Mexican food. We ventured into Los Molcajetes and it was a welcoming experience. Fast and friendly service, great food, good prices, all around wonderful experience. Will be having dinner there more often.
The frozen swirl margaritas are to die for. The food is always fresh and the service is second to none. The fajitas are my favorite, dunno what the chef uses to season the meat bit its very addicting. I have been to this restaurant more than 100 times since 2007 and I have never had a bad experience. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you like great tex-mex and the best margaritas in town.
Excellent. My husband and I ventured into Los Molcajetes restaurant and were overcome with the wonderful aroma of fajitas and pleased with the family friendly atmosphere. The waiter was attentive to our every need, even my husbands insatiable thirst. My husband is a huge ice tea drinker who says they have the best ice tea in town. While waiting for our order we enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were fresh, thin, crispy, and salt free (a blessing since we are watching our salt intake). The salsa is mildly spicy with a side of hot if you want to add it to make your mouth cry for more. We received our food hot and it was mouth watering good. My husband had the fajitas and I nachos, they were amazing! I highly recommend, Oh, you must try the frozen margaritas Enjoy!
The Line Begins Behind Me. Just when you think you figured it all out. . . someone throws you a curve. I thought I understood all about Mexican food. To me it all tastes pretty good. Some Mexican and Tex-Mex restaurants are better than others, and I guess there are few bad ones in North Texas but what fooled me was how great Los Molcajetes really is. I don't know what they do, but from the salsa and tortilla chips they serve at the table, to the entree it is magnificent. They serve two salsas a thin, rustic tomato-based pico de gallo type salsa which has a definite cilantro tang, and a piquant habanero salsa which comes in a smaller plastic cup. A little of this goes a long way. I had the mole enchiladas (see photo). Their version of this popular dish was great! They have about twenty different daily lunch specials. Curiously, I used to think that this restaurant was sort of fancy, but it is very casual with concrete floors, wooden tables and several televisions hanging throughout the main dining area. They also have a full bar. The food came out really fast too. The server remarked that after the lunch crowd the food preparation takes no time at all. What a surprise this was to find such a good restaurant in my neck of the woods. You learn something new everyday!
THIS IS A GREAT FAMILY PLACE. Found something that everyone at the table liked....the fried peppers were some of the best....everything else made me glad that we came here...
Great place. Love this place! Tips has become a weekly trip for us, and always leave satisfied. My personal favorite is the Brisket Tacos and the Xango dessert. You will not be disappointed. This is the one place we always take out of state family to when they visit. The servers are always great, they have a wonderful staff that are all very friendly.
Ok Experience. My family, and I have been here twice, since our recent move to the area. Although it is not the best mexican food I have ever had, it is good. My issue is the service. When we arrive we always have to wait, which is not a problem. The hosts are friendly, and they eventually get you to a table. Then the waiter arrives. He was rushing us to order and behaved as if he would rather be doing anything other than serving us. I do realize that a service job can be stressful, but you have to keep a smile on your face and trudge on. If this is not something you can do, get another job. We will be back when we are in the mood for mexican food, but hopefully we get a better server.
Good Food, Service and Value. We felt compelled to visit Los Molcajetes after reading all of the online reviews and, while I won't go so far as to say it's my favorite Mexican food in the Metroplex, the rest of the reviews are pretty much right-on. Fresh flavors, original menu items and generous portions. The service is fast and attentive, and the place was packed. The word is definitely out on this place. They do a great business. We will definitely be back, but we'll also continue to explore others of the many Mexican and Tex-Mex restaurants in the area.
Really good MEXICAN food............ If you're looking for TEX-MEX, this is not the place. This is just really good mexican food. We went for luch at 11:15 am on a Monday and the place was already beginning to get crowded. Great chips and sauces (regular, spicy, and verde) and large portion on the enchilada lunch specials. Everything positive here!
Great Tex-Mex. Enough said!
YUM - O !. Be prepared to wait, BUT LISTEN TO ME...STAY AND WAIT! So so good...wish I was there right now. Best cheese enchiladas and beef/chicken fajitas in DFW.
Great Mexican Food. I eat at Los Molcajetes just about every weekend. The food is always good and sometimes great. The chilled red and green salsa's are very good and very consistant over the years. Recently they added a warm/hot roasted salsa which is starting to grow on me. The Charro Beans are second to none unless they get a little to salty at times. I love just about every item on the menu with the exception of the chile rellenos which appear to be cooked in advance because they are deflated and soggy, Not a good thing for this type of dish. My one and only complaint is that the food comes out way too fast almost like it was prepared earlier in the day... which it obviously is but works for us. The chicken mole is very good but later in the evening the sauce gets a little too thick. All of the portions are very generous.
I wanted to go over the chips and salsa's again.... Very very good, and that is very very important because that is always half the meal in a Mexican restaurant.
Top Of The Mexican Food Chain!. There are plenty of good places in Fort Worth to eat Mexican food, but let me say, Los Molcajetes is a GREAT Mexican Restaurant. The quality of the food is simply outstanding and even though it was very busy with several large family birthday dinners, our waiter was very attentive and our food was ready in a very short time. It was great to be there eating some of the best Mexican food around with so many people having a great time. We will definitely return!
Quail is very good. We prefer Los Molcajetes over any other mexican place. It's busy because it is big fat Yum!!'n
Go here!. Guacamole, queso fundido, fajitas, mango margarita- try it, you'll love it!!!
Amazing. Quite simply my favorite restaurant in the Metroplex and perhaps anywhere. The service is always great, but even that is dwarfed by how good the food is. I highly recommend the enchiladas, but I've never been disappointed.
Drinks were GREAT! Food was good but will definitely go again. Portions were very big, so a good plus for us
Quick and delicious. I recommend the carnitas and the Especial (fajitas, quail, and shrimp)
OMG! Food is awesome and service is great! My son loves the menudo!
Fajita enchiladas, Queso Fundido!. This Place is My favorite in Fort worth! Really good chips and salsa and usually great service!
Really really good. Try the Bisteck Ranchero and brisket tacos. Excellent.
Really cold beer and the best brisket tacos you will ever set! I can't get enough of it!
Great food! Great service! I have been going to Los Molcajetes for years and have never been disappointed.
After reading the reviews on here, my wife and I decided try this place. I'm glad we did! They had me hooked with the salsa. If you like a little extra cilantro in your salsa, you'll love theirs! Junior was great, though a little green, but he walked us through the menu when we told him it was our first time. The food was great, though i was a little disappointed to have to remove the tails off of my grilled shrimp. But seriously, that's not even a complaint nor will it stop me from ordering it again. 5 stars and 2 thumbs up!
Great Mexican Food. Not suspecting this excellent restaurant in a grocery store strip mall. Always jumpin'. Great food--always fresh, hot, and quick from the kitchen. Excellent top shelf margaritas. On the weekends we've enjoyed the mariachi band. Lots of regulars go here (like us!). Try the fried ice cream if you have room after your meal.
Always great. Always excellent
Great staff and food. I have been going to this place for 5 years now and have always enjoyed the food and service. I have tried almost everything on the menu and it is all better than average
Good portions, fresh food. Good portions and prices, and almost all Hispanic waitstaff. My hubby is super picky about Menudo, but will eat it here. Kids meals are big portions. Salsa is pretty good (too many chunks of onion to be great).
We eat here every few months.
My favorite mexican food place. I LOVE their salsa (very cilantro-y) and I LOVE their queso. I get the shrimp quesadillas, (which are STUFFED with baby shrimps) or the Cameron's Mexicana which are jumbo shrimp with a chunky stewed ranchero sauce and jalapenos. The swirl margarita's will also throw you on your bum, they are pretty good.
Good food for the price. The fajitas are excellent, and the salsa is fantastic. The portions are large and the prices are reasonable. Stay away from the flautas, they are the only thing on the menu that I would never order again. Happy hour can get you a $2.50 small maragarita. The strawberry maragaritas are awesome too!
My favorite Mexican food place I have ever been to. I have been a loyal patron for 10 years. I make sure to eat there when I am in town.
My favorite Mexican restaurant in town! Great value, great food! Fresh tortillas, awesome salsa, fantastic tortilla soup and a variety of plates and combos.
Best Shrimp Fajitas. In the metroplex!
And killer margaritas! No skimping on tequila in this place.
Everything is wonderful.
Best in Metroplex. I lived in San Diego for 5 years and anyone who has been there knows their mexican food is better than mexico's and Los Molcajetes is by far the best mexican food in the metroplex. Their specialty is enchiladas but everything on the menu is good. I have been to all of the so-called best resturants in the area (not just mexican) and esperanza's is the only place that holds a candle to it.
Service was fantastic and the only reason my rating wasn't lower. Amanda was great taking care of us. Very quick and checked on us many times. Food was so-so. The rice was cold and the salsa was really bland. All the food was very seasonless. We were really looking forward to finally trying this place because it's always busy and the reviews were high. Very disappointed.
Had the Combo lunch fajitas, was just the right amount of food. Decent price. Unbelievably fast, it's almost as if they know what you want before you order and are eagerly waiting around the corner with it. Waiter was polite but his voice was so deep I could hardly hear what he was saying. Definitely recommend the beef fajitas.
really fast service for lunch, even tho it was packed. the salsas were good. i liked the spicy one better. food came out really quick for being busy. if they only made thier own margarita mix, it would be 5stars in my book
Best Mexican restaurant for sure! Everything is delicious, and really fast.
My favorite dish is the beef fajitas, and fav drink black Diamond margarita.
All good portion for the price.
My kids always eat everything on their plates.
I got a shrimp cocktail, chicken tortilla soup, and sampler appetizer, and the food was great. The shrimp cocktail could use more flavor in the base sauce as it was kind of bland. I have had there other food, including fajitas, in the past and always delicious
First time here and won’t be the last! We were told 15-20 minute wait on Friday and night and waited about 25, but it was worth it! The salsa was so good we went through two bowls, queso perfection, brisket tacos and shrimp quesadilla SO good with huge portions. My husband and I could have just shared one! The shrimp quesadilla was stuffed with shrimp and the tacos we got on flour instead. Kids got typically chicken tenders and fries which weren’t anything special. Ended with fried ice cream and the BEST sopapillas I’ve ever had! Lost one star because our wait wasn’t super friendly but the food made up for it
Queso was creamy and good, big salsa was fresh but lacking a little flavor so I mixed in the hot stuff and made it perfect. Enchiladas were good but the tortilla was a little hard, had to use a knife. Rice was flavorful.
They were really efficient with seating the lunch rush, but my server was a little lacking.
We visited Los Molcajetes on a Sunday around 2 pm. They were busy and we had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. This salsa was delicious and our waitress was quick to bring more chips and salsa when we asked for them. I ordered the quesadilla de camaron, but in my mind wanted the enchiladas de camaron. When the quesadilla was brought and I realized it was not what I had in mind, the waitress was very nice to change out my order for no price. However, I do not like frozen shrimp and it looked like that is what was used for the food. The taco salad was delicious and had good flavor. The Tijuana platter was just okay. All of the portions were very large and we had a meal for another day. I am not in this area very often and would probably not go back just to come to this restaurant again.
We had carry-out from Los Molcajetes on Western Center. It's a family biz, and everyone was so pleasant and upbeat! We enjoyed the most delicious fajitas ever; the meat, peppers and onions were very good and plentiful! The charro soup was so tasty that I wanted to go back and order more. The vegetables and also the chips and sauces were really good quality. I love this place, and my husband feels the same way.
I got the Pollo Plabano. It was very good. I couldn't eat the whole thing and took home leftovers. They were just as delicious. He got the Chicken Chimichanga. The chicken was very juicy and flavorful. We will be visiting again soon. We had to wait 20 minutes, but for a Friday night that wasn't too bad.
Big flavor, Big plates
Ordered the Pollo Con Molle which was absolutely packed with flavor(though a bit on the sweet side for me). Anyone who has never tried mole sauce should definitely give this a shot. It's like a bbq sauce with a chocolate sweetness mixed in. Sounds like a weird combo, but is one of my favorites at any Mexican restaurant.
Side note, be careful about the orange salsa they give you at the start. The spice starts at a medium and quickly builds up as you take more bites.
Food and service very good. Plenty of staff on hand this night. Large seating area. Large selection of food items.
Full service bar fixing up adult beverages.
I love this place. i go with my family all the time and try new things each time, it is always amazing. We absolutely love the pollo con broccoli so much. Highly recommend this place!!
Good food, quick service. Beef fajitas were tender and hot. Both the red and green salsa were flavorful with good heat.
Flautas, nachos, n chips & salsa were really good. I got the sampler appetizer... The quesadilla was just ok. My daughter got the burrito... Just ok.
I would highly recommend this place.
I walked to this location while my car was being worked on at Discount Tire (one of the workers recommended this place to be).
Bottom line - all the food tastes fresh, (ESPECIALLY THE GUACAMOLE - BEST I'VE HAD IN MY LIFE). I would highly reconvene this location to anyone I have ever met.
Food - phenomenal flavor and great taste. I got the combo lunch fajitas and I made it stretch because it tasted so good. Honestly, one of the best things that got my attention while eating here at the chips and salsa. The salsa is SO GOOOODDDD, I asked to take some home to go! It is life changing and has a good spice and flavor. Not your average chips and salsa. The fajitas just tastes so fresh and tender with the corn tortillas.
Price - the prices were absolutely amazing. Well priced and the quality of their food surpasses their pricing. That's dangerous to say, but these people are giving their customer the experience that is worth the value you pay, and then some.
Environment - is a small business but it doesn't feel cramped. Go and check it out for yourself and you'll understand. Even though this is my first time there, I will say I think they probably stay busy.
Bottom line (again) - honestly and sincerely, go eat here for yourself! I think it will be worth your time and your money.
A little loud from the acoustics of the building but overall a good experience.
The food service is super fast, less than 7 mins from ordering to serving.
Good vibes
Had the quail, Mexican style. Delicious! I was not adept enough with cutlery to get much meat from the bird, so I treated it as finger food and loved it. Came with rice and beans and your choice of flour or corn tortillas. I got flour and made little tacos with the quail breast, rice, and beans and it was great. Good sauce, juicy bird.
