Big Time Cafe

When I tell you this is a hidden gem, listen to me. We got 2 "small" Bacon Cheeseburgers, and we had to smash them down and we hurt ourselves trying to eat the whole thing... but we did, and then split the BBQ plate because we figured the burgers would be small. It was so good we couldn't stop eating. If we were locals, we'd be 500 lbs. Plus, they basically give you a jug of tea when you order it. We got 2 appetizers, 2 burgers, and a BBQ plate AND 2 slices of pie and didn't spend over 40$. Our only complaint was that we don't have one closer to home!

Horribly slow service...inexcusable. 1 hour wait for 2 burgers and fries? You're out of your mind if that can be justified for a small town cafe in Alabama. The worst burger I've ever had served to me, without a doubt. Zero seasoning, over cooked and I suppose the only positive thing about it was it's size -- big! I would of enjoyed a fast food burger that was sitting in my glove box for a day over what this cafe whipped up. One server was overly apologetic about the wait while the other had an attitude at something or someone. For almost 20 minutes, nothing but to-go orders came out of the kitchen. 2 customers who came in, ordered to-go got their food before I did. Small, uncomfortable booths. Poorly cooked food. Poor tasting food. Bad service. Horrible wait time. Price? Didn't really pay attention as I just paid to get the heck out of there once I got done eating.

A hidden gem! The spicy chicken sandwich was one of the best ones I have had. Orders take a while but their prices are reasonable and service is friendly. There are two adorable kittens as well :-) We picked up and didn't dine in but the ambiance inside is a typical of such an establishment and we will certainly stop by next time we are in the area.
