This is a moment that I would enjoy being able to provide half a star ratings because a 4.5 would be fitting for Daruma. Their food is good and they offer duck, which is different from other nearby competing Japanese steakhouses. The portions are okay, the atmosphere is solid, the service is okay, but the food is good. There is room for improvement in terms of service and the restaurant, but these are things that are manageable. Each time I have visited there was an extended wait, but nothing that lasted hours (less than 30 minutes). I've always gotten the hibachi and their sushi is okay as well. Solid Japanese steakhouse, but there is competition out there.
Dined at the bar for two. First off, best sushi I've had in Ft Myers! Great service from a busy bartender, and the hibachi steak and shrimp was amazing! Some of the best grilled shrimp I've had at a Hibachi restaurant. Hibachi tables also available here, very clean establishment!
Dinner with mom and we had a pleasant time. Some room for improvement but overall, good.
Warm hostess brought us to a booth and we had an attentive and friendly waiter. Mom chese the chicken udon and I selected the spicy beef. Both came with salad (good salad) and soup (barely warm). Mom's udon was a big portion and she said it was hot and tasty. My beef was tasty but was not hot and I'm definitely confused by the huge pieces of broccoli.
At 5:30pm on a weeknight, it wasn't busy and there weren't any hibachi tables going. Just a few diners at booths in the back section.
Very amazing cooking show at the hot table.
The quality of the food was good and the freshness absolutely fresh!
Specials for kids are available.
I’ve eaten here three times now, and each time has been delicious with excellent service. In the evenings they have a pianist in the dining hall which adds to the special experience. Something I’ve learned is that their drinks are strong and their wine pours are large, so be aware if you don’t want to drink too much!
Very good food at the Hibachi anniversary price of $55 for 2. Delicious shrimp, scallops ,steak ,and chicken ,vegetables cooked at table. Prompt service and personable chef. Flaming volcano onion fun. Great place for a fun date or birthday, family get together
The waitress was fine, she was very pleasant, the atmosphere was good, there's a nice piano that gets played, the booths are SMALL though. I feel the food is a little overpriced and a little bland. Perhaps it was what I ordered. I would probably go back and order something else.
I've been here for multiple occasions, including birthdays, holidays, and anniversaries, with my family for both Hibachi or just sushi. We went there for one of my birthdays and reserved ahead of time, and I had wished it was a little more extra, like a cake and singing or something, but the waiter just said happy birthday to me and that was it. But all the other times have been awesome. When my husband and I did a combo of our birthday and anniversary here, the chefs did so awesomely and were very entertaining and did a cute display for our birthday and anniversary. Everything from the quality of the food, portions of meals, atmosphere, and service, is great. Especially over the phone, when I spoke with the manager about one of our family events, she was very courteous and professional in explaining the pricing and rules for booking. I highly recommend this place for big parties too.
Great atmosphere, amazingly fresh sushi and beautiful plating combined with top notch service made for a fantastic evening out. 100% will go here again.
I was with good company, and we decided to meet some friends here. It was my first experience, but I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the service. The person I was with ordered this awesome sushi platter that had the cucumber lit on fire, but the sushi tasted amazing! Dinner and a show, and I wasn't even at the hibachi area. Full service bar with a fun bartender. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.
