Delicious! Started with delicious bread, perfect crust. We both got yaegerschnitzel, spaetzel and pan fried potatoes. Yummy. Good size portions. Had leftover next day, good then too. Good thing it was the end of our vacation or would have gained weight going there every night. Did I mention the gravy. Drooling.
Austrian-German Restaurant, Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL., A growling in my tummy, 2 cents on the food and some chatter. The food. My order of potato salad, (warm german style) was excellent. Pork Schnitzel, 2 large pieces fried and seasoned to perfection. For dessert apple strudel with whip cream. Lets not forget the meat dumpling soup, wonderful.
Now some chit chat... This eatery is like a oasis in a otherwise boring strip mall. NO television, real cloth napkins plus indoor and outdoor tables. The background music is german . This is a dining experience ...NOT just dine and dash....Service is great. Plenty of parking.
PLUS every 2nd Saturday, of the month through the entire year, dinner time, they offer a german buffet. Which I believe cost 25 bucks per person.
So stop in and give them a try.
Dined with my wife and her mother and brother who were visiting from Germany. The mother is very particular and an excellent cook, she loved the food and thought it was as good as her own cooking, high praise from her! Make sure you bring a good appetite, the portions are huge. If a native German loves the food then you know it is good and authentic. If you Find yourself visiting Ft. Meyers, do yourself a favor and try the food, you won't be disappointed.

Good Stuff!. Much more than this can be said for the food here, but I liked it, and I am not a real German food fan, but I did like this and would be a go back if in the area.
Great Food. Really enjoyed this place. Everything I ate was spot on how it should have tasted at a German resturante. Has a very large schnitzel selection, but rest of menu is a bit more pan-European than just German/Austria. The liver soup is amazing, so please dont be scared by the word liver!
Only complaint is that they DONT have saurkraut... WTH!

The best German food I have found. I love German the food quality and value great. Beware the schnitzel is huge and you will have dificulty stopping yourself from eating it all.
Excellent! The Real Deal. This is the real deal. The food is amazing. We are from out of town and at first we thought the resturant was closed. It is in a strip mall that is mostly vacant. I am so glad we got out of the car! This is the best german food I have ever had. Don't pass this one up. German beer, Schnitzel to die for and Spatlel. The portions are large. We were so stuffed we couldn't think about desert, but the chef was taking out warm apple struddel from the oven as we were leaving. I want to go back today!
Awesome food and service! This is the second time we have been there! Amber did an excellent job of taking care care of us! She was very attentive and spot on! The food was so good it was hard to stop eating! We had the potato pancakes (huge) three different schnitzels and the meat platter. I tried the schnitzel stuffed with brie cheese and cranberries and it was great! They even had two types of gravy. One was a hunter gravy with mushrooms and the other was a pork gravy.There was also plenty of staff and the kitchen was fast! I will definitely make this place a regular
We visited on a day that they served an outdoor buffet. The food was delicious! Their liver dumpling soup is the best we've ever had! The suckling pig was superb as well. Other reviews had made us nervous about the service but we were pleasantly surprised to get seated right away & to have several visits from the owners personally. Overall, one of the best experiences we've had in months!
I have over 20 years in culinary and management experience, and honestly it is hard to find quality food,service,and ambiance in the same package in this area. Happily i found them all in AG restaurant. Service is swift, and attentive. Food quality,preparation and portion size is over the top. My family love the charm and feel of the restaurant, and the owners are cordial and welcome you into thier world. AG restaurant is the best . 5 stars for you.
My wife and I have eaten here twice and enjoyed the food and ambiance. Tucked away in the courtyard of the Royal Palm shopping square in Fort Myers, I found this small, well adorned restaurant to be inviting and refreshing. My wife is of Austrian-German descent and would probably rate this place six stars for its "delicious and authentic" cuisine. However, even though I enjoyed the wiener schnitzel, I think my wife's is better. And no, I am not saying that just to keep my wife happy. On another occasion I had the Hungarian goulash and would recommend it. With each visit we shared a bottle of a smooth Italian red wine and topped dinner off with coffee and warm apple strudel.
My bf and I arrived here one fall evening (2016) and it was small and candle lit. The atmosphere was casual fine dining and I loved it. We got sat by the kitchen which was not the best to me however when greeted by the owner as my waiter and having his service I was gladly surprised. He was excellent, on the ball, pleasant and a true German/Austrian. The pumpkin soup they had at the time was aaamazing I had to get more. We both had different types of schnitzel. Omg I have been dying to go back ever since I really didn't even know what schnitzel was so I was in for a surprise either way and this couldn't have been a better surprise. The pork was so tender and soft with a nice crunchy outside. And the perfect gravy and of course my obsession bacon! Overall I had an outstanding experience and suggest this place If you like real authentic food!
An absolute must try for german food lovers and other foodies alike! Wonderful friendly staff and food that makes your mouth water! We showed up right as they were closing between lunch and dinner shifts and they were nice enough to let us come in and eat anyways. Will definitely be returning to this hidden gem frequently!
One of the two best restaurants in Ft Myers. The food is terrific, the atmosphere is casual and inviting, and real German/Austrian beer on tap finishes off this authentic Bavarian dining experience. They periodically have buffets that are NOT to be missed. 5 stars because there was no 7-star option!
My fiance and I were looking for authentic German food and we sure did find it tonight at the Austrian-German Resturant! He had the Beef Stroganov and I had the Hungarian Goulash and both were amazing. Also their dumpling soup was the best we have ever had. It is a bit difficult to find (tucked in a shopping plaza behind the Publix, where the GPS lead us) but definately worth it. We give them a 5 star rating. Amazing food with great service. We will be making this a regular stop when we are in Fort Myers.

Every thing I had was Delicious. The service was wonderful, she was a great waitress, always asking if i needed any thing, and explaining the entire menu. I will come back soon.
I had beef stroganoff and Mom had sauerbraten. All delicious. The red cabbage and the fresh steamed vegetables were excellent. Then for dessert... the apple strudel and the cherry cake were tasty without being too sweet. And Helmut took a short break from the stove to greet us.
