The Flipside Cafe

Awesome spot to grab a bite to eat or a drink. We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon after a realtor recommended it and were not disappointed. Staff were personable, responsive and, professional. Great precautions taken during the Covid pandemic by checking temps at the door, everyone wearing masks, and seating being rotated from one side of the restaurant to the other so that they could sanitize properly between turns. Highly recommend the Carolina grits and their craft-made Bloody Mary's. A lot of thought was put into perfecting each and every aspect of these items from taste to presentation and it definitely paid off. Both were some of the best I've ever had and still very reasonably priced.

We love your restaurant. We love the unique food concepts you have, there is nothing like it in the area. However, tonight when I picked up after placing an order, I was really sad to see that at least three out of the five team members that I could see back in the kitchen did not have masks on. One young man preparing the salad greens was wearing gloves, but was wearing his mask essentially as a chin guard and did not have it over his nose or mouth. There was another team member in the back that was handling food that had their mask around their chin and not their mouth and nose. Another team member handling food had no mask on whatsoever. Another team member (a server, I believe) pulled their mask down to speak to one of their co-workers. Someone in management, please make note of this. You have a sign on your front door that says patrons are not allowed to enter without a mask on. Why do you not apply the same rules to your team members? There are plenty of people out there looking for jobs that would love to wear a mask for their entire shift every day so that they can just keep lights on or pay rent. It appears that many of your team members do not care for themselves or your patrons. Managers, check your security camera footage from 6pm to 7pm on 1/3/2020, focusing on the kitchen area and prep area at the coffee bar. You’ll see what I’m talking about. So disappointing, BE BETTER.

So my family and I tried Flipside today for breakfast at the Fort Mill location. It was around 10 and pretty crowded, but thankfully we found seats at the bar. My son ordered a buttermilk waffle with a side of cheese grits. I had the Flipside special, grits, 2 pieces of bacon, a scrambled egg, and a biscuit with sausage gravy; and the hubs had shrimp and grits with a side of toast. We each had drinks and the total came out to be $57... a little pricey, but the food was great and seasoned great. The atmosphere was good and the bartender who served us, Jerrie, was prompt with our drinks and very friendly. The best part is that we didn't have to wait long for the food to be delivered! I'll definitely try again for lunch.

This place is a true gem. Our waiter Cody was the best. The food was superb. I had the steak and eggs and everything was cooked to perfection. My wife had the stuffed pecan french toast and boy was it devine. My sister had the Maine lobster omelet and it too was great! I would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a hole in the wall type eatery that has great prices and phenomenal food!!

I absolutely loved my meal and the setup at flip side. I ordered the Carolina grits but added shrimp to it and it was amazing. The only thing I would change is not getting the bacon jam because that added a sweetness to it and I was craving something more savory however it was still amazing. Their settings and details within the restaurant are beautiful. Gender-fluid bathrooms which are immaculate especially for South Carolina. I live 40 mins away but I will definitely be back again.

Excellent atmosphere and great food! In all reality this business need to expand so they can have more customers. Great place to eat and enjoy friends. Staff very friendly they are not bias against any ethnic. In this day and time we all need this type of integrity like Flipside Cafe customer service employees and staff members. Our society today is lacking love, respect and togetherness. I would recommend this cafe to anyone. Love this place!!!💞💕💓💗
