Review Luigi's Coal Oven Pizza - Fort Lauderdale

Brandon Le
Great location, food, and atmosphere. Lots of different pizza options to choose from, and non-pizza options as well. Good wings and calamari. They let you do half and half for the pizza toppings, which is great because it meant we could try lots of different flavors. We sat outside because it was a busy night, and there wasn’t too many bugs and wait staff were very responsive. Good experience overall. Limited parking, and usually a wait, but worth it for the quality and portions.

Luigi’s is probably one of the best places to eat pizza in the Fort Lauderdale area. Pizza was delicious and service was good. Parking is limited, but there is street parking that you have to pay for.

Was just passing by and decided to give it a try and woww! Pizza ingredients super fresh, flavor rich, thin crust…and the wings?! With sautéed onions and the best buffalo sauce. Will be back!

New York style pizza 🍕. Great flavor. Nice crispiness to the crust with good leoparding underneath. Good sauce. Good value. Very light dough, so you will feel good after eating it. ✨️ Would definitely come again. My wife recommended this place to me, and it did not disappoint. They have a parking lot with a few spots, so there no need to worry about parking in the street .

This was our first time and we had the calamari and a margherita/tomato pie (NYC) style and it was SO GOOD. The waitress was super helpful and the atmosphere was great.

Luigi’s Pizza is amazing some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. What a wonderful place!! The margarita pizza was my favorite! The coal oven makes everything taste better! The wings were amazing as well as the fried mozzarella! I will be back soon!

The food was delicious, and the service was great. The options on variety weren't as expected. They don't have ranch nor any other sauce or flavors to incorporate into the wings. Also the Truffle fries weren't what I expected. They were soggy and greasy. The pizza was delicious. For the price... the experience could have been better.

Small place but the food does not disappoint! My husband ordered the penne primavera and I went with classic spaghetti and meatballs. Everything was super flavorful however the fried calamari needed some salt, but the spicy marinera was tasty. And lastly the house salad is a must! I ordered the half size and it was shared between us. Everything was hot and fresh and our waitress checked in on us periodically not to overwhelming which I like!

Couldn’t wait to try this pizza. It came out fast and was so good, a solid 8.75, also got the house made Parmesan chips, really good! Also got the meatball sub which I’d give an 8, the parking is close but usually full. The service was “ok” not great, but it was right after they opened. Definitely give it a try if on las olas, great pizza!!!!!

Wanted to have a quick takeout pizza 🍕 while visiting Fort Lauderdale and decided to go to Luigi's which happen to be also one of the closest pizzeria. The server was great at recommendation, I got the margarita and mushroom truffle pizza, both of them were fantastic. Both pizzas were gone in 8 mins once I got home 😋 I wish I had more time here to try other variants, highly recommend ✌🏽

Alright, this is going to take a minute everybody take a seat. Luigi’s coal oven pizza is the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life. It truly feels like an enigma as to why it is so perfect. Some of the finer details of their craft is how it’s made: the pizza is in my mind the absolute perfect thickness; the pizza is 1/4” of an inch thick with a perfect 50/50 split of dough and cheese. In life Symmetry is beauty and they achieve this. The whole feeling of the actual pizza is perfect, the dough is almost soft and leather like when it comes to how chewy it is, it’s as if the dough and cheese become one, if you’re a texture / feel person when you eat this is important. Pulling a slice apart from the pizza is another way I test the quality of my pizza. I Kid you not, one one occasion I pulled a slice off of a whole Pie and had the cheese stretch 2 ft!!!! Before it actually came apart from the pie! Now all the people talking about parking… if you forgot; we’re here for pizza and Italian food, not a parking lot. Remember what you’re eating? Maybe park the car down the road and take a walk for once in your life, what’s going to happen? Are you afraid of gaining a bigger appetite? I digress… The other food items on the menu are exceptional as well. I’ve actually wondered how can one place have so many A list items on their menu and not have the quality of food centered around one main dish, example: pizza. The salads, the calamari, the octopus, absolutely second to none. I think the the secret to this place is what I mentioned before, proper ratios in their ingredients. I saw some reviews about drinks on here as well, once again you’re dining at a tier 1 pizza place, if drinks are what you’re after walk down los olas and figure it out. For things not related to the quality of the food, service has always been exceptional and quicker than I ever expect, I’m Never in a rush when I eat so this isn’t important to me however it’s something I’ve noticed. Overall: best pizza I’ve ever had, every time I’m in Fort Lauderdale I’m at this place about 3 times during my stay. Absolutely beautiful to be sitting outside and dining as well the aesthetic and set up is perfect. This is an absolutely quality state of the art unadulterated pizza eating experience. Hats off to Luigi’s. Dom Pavic

Awesome restaurant! My husband is Sicilian and he absolutely loved it. Great food and reasonable prices.

The go to Las Olas pizza place! Pizza ingredients are nothing short of fresh and staff is attentive and friendly! Another positive aspect is the easy in and out parking right in front something that most other neighboring locations are not going to be able to offer on this popular strip! Area of improvement could be found in the Soft drink selection, but very easy to overlook.

Great pizza and food!!!! Definitely will return.

Passing by this place a few times while driving through Las Olas Blvd, it always seemed busy. We were in the mood for pizza but we’re also particular about where we eat it. We decided to give Luigi’s Coal Oven Pizza a shot. Glad we did, because It satisfied our craving! Like most places on Las Olas, it’s crammed but had some character and ambiance. The parking lot was tight and found myself constantly glancing outside to see if someone was going to dent my doors (people are so careless) so that took away from the experience. But I appreciated the free parking and the large outside patio area. It was nice to be able to dine inside in the a/c as well. The place is very busy with takeout, door dashers, and sit-down diners. We ordered the 12” pizza marinara, but had to “add” cheese for an up-charge, which is silly in my opinion. We also decided to try the 10 piece wings. The food was good with the pizza being the highlight. It came out hot and fresh. You could really taste the olive oil, garlic, and basil. The marinara was perfect and that added cheese put the pie over the top. The wings came with grilled onions which was a first for us and the taste from the rosemary was strong. I wouldn’t order the wings again but not because they were bad. The service was solid with the staff being attentive and friendly. It’s a decent spot that we would recommend if you’re in the area.

Randomly stumbled upon this off a water taxi stop, it's a must the pizza is amazing the salads are super fresh and the happy hour is unparalleled. I got wings a individual pizza and a salad with 2 shots at happy hour for 30 dollars. Highly recommend, chefs kiss.

So good! Words can’t describe the freshness!! And the price anywhere else would be quadruple for half the taste!

Everytime we come down this is the 1st place we go after check in at hotel. Best by far & I'm from NY & been to Italy. Staff always helpful & friendly. I highly recommend

Pizza is 10/10. New Yorker approved!! Cute little Italian joint. Indoor/outdoor seating. Great pricing. Delicious tiramisu. Our server Rodrigo was excellent! Highly recommend enjoying a bottle of wine, with some delicious food, here!!!

I've been living in the area for quite some time now and have had every "greatest" pizza in town but Luigi's is really where it's at, I have stood by that statement for years and I continue to do so. There is a fairly new bartender on staff, Jeff, who has also suggested some of the pasta dishes and different pizza choices to me and his recommendations are always phenomenal. But more importantly beyond his food knowledge, he is an incredibly talented bartender. Between his vast knowledge of wines, beers, and liquors and ability to create any cocktail from your very traditional timeless cocktails to unique specialities of his own accord that you won't see anywhere else. Jeff is also extremely welcoming and by far has one of the wittiest personalities I've come across, it's a joy to sit at the bar with him, I go straight there every time I come in. If you truly want the best pizza or pasta and now cocktails in Fort Lauderdale you'd be wrong to go anywhere else. 5/5 I recommend coming by to see Jeff at the bar and ask him to create one of his own specialty cocktails, he'll have you hooked!

Excellent pizza and calzones! Great atmosphere in the restaurant. All of the staff were great, especially our server Simona. Even the music being played was good!

The food is consistenly delicious and their pizza is by far my favorite. Love the Neapolitan pizza and tomato pie (New York style pizza) - soooo good. The atmosphere is also great and perfect for a casual date night 🍕🍷💏

I've lived in Ft Lauderdale for 9 months and this was the best pizza I've found by far. Moving here from Massachusetts where Santarpios and Pizzeria Regina are my favorite pizza spots, I no longer miss a great pizza pie!!!

Shared a Truffle and Pop's pizza half and half with a bottle of wine... Service was friendly, fast and the food superb.. highly recommend....

Outstanding location and a fun "old school" atmosphere with some of the best pizza in South Florida. gGeno, the waiter was great, too.
Betsy Smith
It was worth the 30 minute drive. So delicious! Very good service and the pizza came out fast. They have their own parking lot, which is rare on Las Olas.

Great food, pizza nice and crispy, great salads and weekly specials. Love this place, never a bad meal. A must try if your in the area. Can't wait to go back !

I was so hopeful when a large and delicious salad that we ordered for the table arrived, even after the cheesticks we ordered ended up being basically the yummiest grilled cheese I have ever tried, but it was a huge disappointment when the mushroom & spinach pizza hit the table and the toppings were canned. I loathe canned spinach, more than half of a pie ended up in the trash. I should've stuck with good 'ol cheese, sigh.....

Excellent paninis and super fast service from the wait staff and kitchen. It was a packed house on a Saturday night and they were on their game. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The service was great even though they were completely full. The pizza was delicious and our waiter Azur suggested the tiramisu. He said it was so delicious that you could taste it forever. He was right. Best tiramisu that I've had.

Super sweet waitress & best broccoli rabe, & pizza ever!!! Will definitely go back when in the area & recommend to others:-)

First time at Luigi’s but definitely not my last!! Awesome calamari sautéed with tomatoes and olives. Friendly staff made us feel like regulars.

Sat at the bar for dinner. Huge house salad & truffle oil pizza was plenty for two. Excellent service & food was perfection.
Jim Dillon
Really enjoyed the white pizza. The crust was delicious and the mushroom, feta and spinach were amazing.

The pizza is delicious, crusty and thin as I like it. The place is small but clean and the service is good. You have free parking and they allow you to take your pet if you eat outside. Four stars because the service is slow.

The pizza here is pretty good and fresh! We couldn't get into the restaurant next door so we opted for this place and I'm glad we did.

We got the meat lovers pizza which had pepperoni and sausage; It came on a pizza platter that sits high for everyone at the table to reach. The service was really good, our waitress was quick and efficient. I ordered a margarita and it was really good. The inside is pretty small so I could see that there could be wait times during peak hours.

I think a lot of the patrons didn't want to wait next door too and decided to come here. My friends ordered the calamari and they loved it. They also have a big parking lot so that is pretty convenient; there's also metered street parking. I would definitely recommend the pizza, food, and drinks here. They run a tight operation and the food was super hot and fresh! I'm glad to be able to check this place!

Given the pizza renaissance taking place across America, I am no longer surprised to find great pie outside of the traditional pizza belt cities like Philly, Trenton, New York, New Haven, and Boston. One area with a terrific concentration of destination pizza is the Atlantic Coast in South Florida. Luigi's Coal Fired Pizza, Fort Lauderdale

Delish!. My boyfriend and I were on Vacation staying in a hotel off of Las Olas. We wanted to get off of Las Olas and try something different so I looked up "best pizza in ft Lauderdale". Luigi's came up as one of the top 10 so we decided to try it. Boy am I glad we did... the pizza was delicious!!! I had a calzone that was to die for! It was bigger than my head! I'm sad that I don't have a Luigi's back home because this would be a weekly dinner date for us. There was a gentleman sitting next to us at the bar that actually complained that his pizza was "burnt".. I assume he's never had a coal fired/wood fired pizza before because it's not burnt it's just crispy and that's what gives it the great flavor. They also had a great wine selection. If you're wondering if you should try this place it's a definite YES in my book!

I visit this restaurant several times a month when I am in town in the winter for a reason. The staff is excellent and the food is excellent. Go for the coal fired pizza.
Locharan0410
Worst service. We went to dinner the place is half empty and they brought us the wrong pizza. Then when we had to ask three servers for our drinks before some one brought them out. Then they brought out the wrong replacement pizza. They took forever and where just rude. I would never recommend this establishment.

Nothing Prepared Me.... This is the best pizza I've had in a long time, and my favorite in the state of Florida. Even though it is cooked in a wood burning oven, it is so much like my all time favorite coal fired pies. Terrific crust with light char spots, and plenty of moisture in the toppings. The sauce was so simple and balanced in flavor. The sausage almost melted in my mouth. Luigi's you have won my heart.

YUMMY!. My husband and I went to Luigi's on a Tuesday night. We ordered the homemade chips, a calzone with sausage and Lasagna. Everything was delicious! ! The calzone was big enough to feed two people and comes with a great marinara sauce. The chips were awesome! The service was excellent. It's a small place seating 20 people or so and even on a Tuesday it was mostly full but no wait for us. Wasn't cheap (our bill was $41 before tip)but the food and service was so good we didn't mind.
InRegina2
It is hard to go wrong with a wood burning coal oven. This is a casual restaurant that serves pretty good pizza. There are a few other items in the menu as well as tiramisu and espresso. The pizzas are quite traditional.

Had a calzone, it was excellent. Very good sauce. Very busy place. And small so call ahead or risk waiting. Would def go back.

Absolutely incredible, second time in less than a week. fresh ingredients and fabulous crust. super friendly waiters and really quick service. the coal oven pizza will leave you wishing you had leftovers!
Robert
Absolutely the BEST COAL OVEN PIZZA IN FLORIDA!!!
Anthony's could use a lesson from Luigi on how to make pizza!
Bob Woltin
Luigis is the best little jewel to come to Las Olas Blvd in years. The pizza is the best in town, they bake the perfect pie, not BURNT LIKE OTHER COAL OVEN PIZZA PLACES! Each pie is hand crafted, using the finest ingredients from Luigi DiMeo's home town in Naples Italy. The service is wonderful, all smiles from everyone. I can not stop recommending this tiney little jem to ever pizza lover in the world!
Jen Jen
It was super good!. I don't know all the bad review. Maybe they just got better, but some people from my office went for lunch and it was really good. We had 3 of the smaller pizzas to share and some wings. I loved it all. And the wings came with the extra bread and onions - yum. I'm going back for sure.
Janet
Great pizza and super friendly staff. Great experience
Dacheapjew
The pizza was good, but not the best. Prices are very reasonable and the service is quick.
Peter
Great Pizza. Honestly the pizza was really good read some reviews before I went and was almost not going to try it while I was there on vacation glad I didn't listen lolol

Magnifico!!!. Excellent Pizza, price is reasonable. Reminds me of being in NYC enjoying a traditional slice of pizza, can eat till they close. Thin crust, light sauce, light cheese with a sprinkle of basil. Original.
Will
Traditional. Awesome pizza, gotta love the Margarita, great sauce, cheese is light, thin well done crust. Very Fresh, will be back often.
Glasolas
Don't waste your time! How can you go wrong with meatballs? Very slow service. Go to Primantis Brothers pizza instead.

Found this place on my first trip to Ft. Lauderdale. New York style pizza was great and reasonably priced. Not greasy, but fresh.
Mitch C
Fantastic authentic coal oven pizza! Don't bother with Anthonys- this is way better. Also great coal fired wings and their toppings ate amazing- must try the fresh ground sausage. Warm & friendly staff is headed up by Luigi's lovely wife, and a great little wine bar completes the perfect Las Olas pizza experience. Very reasonable prices and a truly authentic taste of Italy!
Heather
Amazing pizza!! Best in town; prices are great and portions match their price. Small area for dinning but I would wait hours for their pizza!
Inside Fort Lauderdale
The Tomato Pie I got was pretty good, but a Margherita was bad. The cheese was hard. Typical Fort Lauderdale inconsistency
