Healy's Westside

We were invited to have lunch at Healy's Westside with my brother-in-law Tom and his son. They have frequented Healy's for years. We arrived right at opening on a Sunday and had the place to ourselves for awhile. Though they have a full beautiful bar we simply ordered soft drinks and began our meal with chips and guacamole - the chips and guac were an unexpected delicious choice and certainly one of the highlights of our visit. We ordered steak sandwiches and blue cheese burgers with fries. All were very good - kinda wish we were given more fries. I really enjoyed my steak sandwich with cheese and would recommend it to anyone. Healy's has a very comfortable atmosphere - feels like one of those bars/restaurants that has been and will be around forever.

Best hamburgers in the area. Staff is friendly and attentive. It's large, so there is never a problem getting seated, either at the bar or at a table. Traditional pub fare that is really good. Fries are nothing to write home about, but the sandwiches are excellent. Large servings. Plenty of TVs for sporting events. The bartender's are always willing to switch to a different game if you ask (and no one else cares about what's on). We head there to watch college football and basketball. We usually end up here once each weekend.

We have recently moved to the area, and Healy's has quickly become one of our favorite Forest Park bars. They have a pretty big location and a large bar with several TV's, darts boards, and slot machines. It is a great place to catch a game, host a gathering, or just spend a Friday night with a friend! They certainly have a local bar feel. They decorate for the holidays and host some fun events. We return because of their excellent service, reasonable prices, and good selection. Being an Irish bar, they've got a variety of Irish beers, ciders, and whiskeys that we really enjoy. Healy's also offers food and has nightly specials. We have only had a few of their appetizers, but everything has been pretty good! Stop into Healy's next time you're out in Forest Park- you won't regret it!

If it wasn't for the girls dancing the time was awful. Your food is horrible, not just bad horrible. Fish and chips in a pub was something I had a taste for, yours wasn't even the quality of the Gorton's Fisherman. Burgers were frozen, beef was packaged, and corn beef was like rubber. We sent a decent amount of money there for a very disappointing time.

I love Healy's for what it is, and what it can be....a family-friendly neighborhood bar/restaurant where you can always catch your favorite games, and get a good meal for a great price. For some reason, our toddler is the best behaved at Healy's compared to other restaurants. Maybe it's the friendly servers who make our son smile, or the open and well-lit space with a lot of visual distractions for an antsy toddler. But we've come here often during the day on weekends for Michigan games or March Madness. With all the tv screens, they'll always have your favorite game on. We usually get a huge mound of hot or bbq wings (really reasonably priced), and their sampler platter is awesome when we're in the mood for greasy goodness. Their kids' menu is basically adult-sized portions for about $3 or $4 bucks, can't beat it. If only they had a baby changing station in the bathroom, it would be perfect. Alas.....
