Rolling Meadows

First time trying. A party of 5 & 3 of us ordered same breakfast entree. Mine was $2.50 more for some reason with no explanation on bill. Turns out sour dough toast has an up charge. Supposedly it says on the menu as I was told by 2 employees. The waitress became rather rude when I was asking why my bill was more than the others. She told me she doesn't make the rules & I can take it up with the cashier. She became quite angry when I said if I was a waitress here I would tell customers up front about the extra charge & see if they still want it. She said "oh so its my fault??" Next thing I know a gal is standing behind me angrily asking me if I have a problem. The waitress told her to come over by me. I said I had no idea all toast preferences were not included, if I did I wouldn't have got it. She said that it is stated on menu & that's just the way things are now days. I order a chopped steak instead of reg. steak with the steak & eggs entree to save money, I wanted mushrooms on it, but then I read that hash browns weren't included & would cost $3.50 more. That I did read, so I ordered with no mushrooms. I certainly felt bamboozled by the extra toast charge & just kinda confused by the way the menu was presented. I felt embarrassed by all the attention this caused at our table. The table next to us also had some sort of problem with their bill which was brought to my attention by two of the people I was dining with. I know its only $2.50 but I will never go back after being treated so rudely over it. The food was good & comparable to other restaurants in Fond du Lac.

Breakfast was *VERY* good -- I had Pecan waffles, which I've never eaten before. Absolutely HEAVENLY !! Even though the restaurant was QUITE full ( we ate there later in the morning on Easter Sunday ), the service was quick and the waitress was attentive but not intrusive. She was very accommodating, too, as she allowed my daughter to completely change her order about 5 or 6 minutes after she'd taken the slip back to the kitchen, which my daughter greatly appreciated. VERY good...I'll definitely be coming back !

We hadn't been here in years! We used to go out to eat here alot when our daughter was young and she always had to get a gum ball. And now our grandson was just as excited getting his own gum ball from the gum ball machine! Always enjoyed the food and the price and was still a great family restaurant! Our breakfast was delicious!

I would have have this place five stars just because of the phenomenal food. Food was quite possibly the best breakfast I've ever had. Waitress wasnt very good. Prior to getting our food I notice that my knife had dried salad leaves stuck to it. So we gave it back to her and she never brought a clean one back. Ordered potatoes as my side and got greens instead. But she wouldn't come back around so I just ate them. Ran out of drink and she didn't come to ask if we needed more until we were finished eating. Food gets 5 stars, value gets 5 stars, service gets 1.5 stars at best.

Our breakfast experience here was wonderful! The restaurant was very clean and the food was delicious. JC, our server, was expedient and happy! She was even able to customize my breakfast to fit my desires. I ordered country fried steak with sautéed asparagus, broccoli, and mushrooms that was from a skillet. It came out perfect! Would highly recommend giving this local restaurant your business!
