This little place serves fantastic food. Jason our server was great. Its scary walking into a new place but everyone was super friendly. The grilled seafood platter was sperb

I loved the shrimp and scallops on the seafood platter and my son loved the crab and shrimp. We ordered the crab balls which were good but didn't live up to the hype I thought. I think if I had it to do over, I would have wanted to try the calamari. Good food but didn't go back during our visit.

Today was our first visit to the Crab Shack and definitely not our last! I ordered the fried shrimp platter and my husband had the Fried Calabash Seafood Basket. Everything was delicious and perfectly fried! I had never seen such large shrimp and the fries were perfectly crispy and golden. The collards and red rice that came with my meal were nicely seasoned. We also had the artichoke crab dip which was warm and tasty with pita triangles. It was hard not to polish the dip off and save room for our main meals!
This restaurant has a great atmosphere of family and comfort mixed with an eclectic character. There is an area where we can bring our dogs and a heated patio area. I loved the Xmas touches everywhere and enjoyed looking at all of the wall art. There was even a small table in the front that was “reserved” for a special couple who are frequent customers.
We will definitely be coming back! I need to try the she crab soup and some other main dishes but it’s going to be hard to stay away from those huge shrimp and fries! Highly recommend this gem for all visitors to Folly Beach!

I'm a "local," and sometimes struggle to find a place to eat seafood that's just plain, really good seafood. Well, I found it tonight at the Folly Beach Crab Shack! The she crab soup was amazing and the basket of fried shrimp was to die for. The portion sizes were what I would consider as large (my basket of shrimp had at least 30 shrimp in it). But beyond the food, the service was tremendous. Our server, Nick, was super attentive, without being intrusive - you know those servers who are just always there, asking if you need anything? Nick had a way of showing up every time you did need something and was attentive and a great source of information on the local scene.
I don't know how things are during the peak beach season when there are lots of beachgoers, but, it sure was nice to find a local seafood restaurant that was easy to access, amazing food, reasonably priced and wonderful service.
Oh, there are options for indoor seating, enclosed patio seating or sidewalk seating. They even have a band for entertainment during the evening hours (maybe mostly on weekends).
If you haven't tried it - you don't know what you're missing!

The kids were tired so I walked out of our condo in search of some quality take out to bring home. So glad I walked in. Aaron at the bar was quick to get my order and give some pointers on what’s good. Harry, a local legend, was at the bar and took the time to give me a warm welcome and full history of the island. It was like walking into Cheers. The food was fantastic and a great value too!

Another great time! Always head to The Crab Shack on every visit. Best Crab Dip in all the land! Thanks to Aaron for making our time there amazing. Even Ron stopped and had a great conversation with us. Got a tshirt & hot sauce to go. As always great food, amazing folks, and awesome drinks!

My family and I were seated quickly. The food was very good over all but not a large selection on the menu which is ok. We enjoyed the "she crab" soup and fried green tomatoes were really good. Excellent fried shrimp and peel and eat shrimp. The live music was an added bonus.
