The Pine Tavern

The Pine Tavern Restaurant is a gem tucked away in the mountains of Virginia. We got the family style lunch which was delicious and affordable. We got salad, mashed potatoes, fried chicken, roast beef, smoked pinto beans, sweet cabbage, biscuits, drinks, and dessert all included and as much as we wanted. The mashed potatoes and chicken were amazing. The waitress who helped us was one of the sweetest waitresses I've ever had! There's plenty of parking in the back and the blue ridge parkway is close by if you want to see some pretty scenery after you eat.

I've been twice. Pros: Nice atmosphere. Fried chicken and pulled pork is delicious. Cons: The ham and roast beef are a little too salty and along with the sides were cold when they arrived at the table. Especially the roast beef and broccoli casserole. Overall the family style dinning is an experience and worth giving a try.

It was a joy to be able to celebrate our marriage at the Pine Tavern. Reed hosted us for our wedding reception in August of 2021. We could not have been happier with how the evening went. Reed was easy to work with and flexible. He ordered kegs for us, asked for feedback on the table layout, and communicated clearly. The day of the event Reed and his staff were hospitable and accommodating. Everything was as we had discussed. As always the Pine Tavern's food was wonderful, good homestyle cooking. The space is cute and needed very little decoration on our part. We love the atmosphere they have curated. We ate inside with plenty of space for our 94 guests, then partied outside with drinks and a band. Our reception cost ended up totalling under $4,500. Thanks for being so wonderful to work with!
