Next to our hotel is the lively and fun Skipper's Dockside in Key Largo. It sits next to Key Largo Harbor Marina, where you can dock your boat for 2 hours while at Skipper's. Beautiful area to walk around at by day or night with many palm trees. It's basically a seafood restaurant, but I recently developed allergies to seafood, so I ordered the Churrasco Steak & Frites dish with smashed potatoes and a vegetable medley. It was cooked just right and was delicious. They give you generous portions here. My daughter ordered the Short Ribs dish with smashed potatoes. However, by mistake, they brought her the wrong order (Short Rib tacos). Judith was our server, and she sincerely apologized for the chef. She was a very nice lady and took really good care of us the entire night. We completely understood. The only other glitch was that the French Onion Soup that we ordered as an appetizer tasted like no other French Onion soup we have ever tasted. I can't even describe what it was or what was in it. We couldn't finish it. Judith brought us their delicious Key Lime pie to make up for the soup. A huge applause to Matt, who was their live entertainer that evening, sang the most touching and beautiful rendition of "Hallelujah" that I have ever heard! He has a fantastic singing voice. I could listen to him for hours. We had a very nice time on this beautiful warm evening outdoors by the water. Parking is free in their own lot. Wheelchair accessiblability. We plan to go back again on our next trip to the keys.

Excellent customer service, great food and yummy drinks. A little pricey for the time that it’s open. So get there early because it closes fairly early. But well worth your time and money. #enjoy and you can thank me by following me. ♥️❤️😊👏🏼

Great experience. Key Lime Alfredo was delicious. Kids mac and cheese is phenomenal (go figure). Very accommodating for a slight adjustment to a fish sandwich. Overall great dinner experience at sunset

I really enjoyed this place, I had the red snapper freshly fried, and the wifey had the Mahi tacos 🌮 omg 😲 😋 😍. The cilantro rice was delicious. The waiter was very helpful on my ordering. Definitely will go back. Came back with the family next day...

It was a bit confusing at first where to park when using GPS. We were greeted and seated quickly. Our waitress was nice. Tried skips rum runner and it is not quite as good as the Pilot house. The food was tasty I got the battered fish and shrimp combo(I do wish it had the option of grilled) large amount of fries came with it. The coke slaw is really tasty. I hadn’t had coke slaw with those combinations before. The seating had a view of docked boats and a hotel. Overall I would definitely eat here again but try something that isn’t fried.

Fish tacos were legit! 🤤 the family of negative Nancy's that were seated directly behind us (the whole place was empty at this time) just made the visit a little less fun. Will for sure go back!

This fun spot has a view of a wide canal with boats, pelicans, and of course can’t leave out the spectacular sunsets. Make sure to try the Smoked Fish Dip, and Fish Tacos. If the weather is too hot for you, there’s an air conditioned indoor space you can enjoy an iced cold beer or Rum Runners! Great live music and ambiance. Food is a bit pricey, but is to be expected in The Keys. The leashed pet-friendly outdoor space is nice. 😊

My wife and I stopped in for desert on a scuba diving trip to Key Largo. We had the Key Lime pie and both of us agreed it was the best Key Lime pie either of us has ever had. Based on that desert, we returned to Skippers the following evening for dinner. Once again, we were very happy with the food and excellent service provided by our waitress, Judith! We had a delicious meal. My wife ordered the smash burger. It was cooked to her desired “doneness” and was tasty and well dressed. I ordered a cocktail, which was excellent (it was a gin cocktail, can’t remember the name) and the daily fresh fish special. The fish was as fresh as it gets and expertly prepared! Of course we finished with the Key Lime pie. Highly recommend this spot. A little more upscale than its neighbor further down the pier.

Skippers is the 'main' bar restaurant in the Key Largo canal 'combined resort' area (Courtyard by Marriott Key Largo/Holiday Inn/Marina del Mar). Located on the south side of the canal it's a short walk from both the Holiday Inn and the Marina del Mar areas, and easily assessable from the Courtyard property on the north side of the canal. We docked in a slip by the Courtyard after a run up from Marathon just in time to clean up and head over for the beginning of Happy Hour(s) on a Thursday afternoon. Our bartender was super friendly (a contracted bartender with the company that owns and operates the bar/restaurant ... it was her last week 'down south' before heading north for the summer rush up in New England) with great stories about the many places she worked. Drinks were reasonably prices - probably even a little below what you'd expect for a 'resort' in the Keys. The cheese steak flatbread we had was very good. The one negative comment we have concerns the queso dip and chips. The queso was basically the 'plastic' cheese you get with really cheap nacho platters. So skip that one.
