Excellent food!!!! No joke. We thought it might be a touristy place, but the food was authentic. Sauces were incredible. Meat was perfect! Great art inside. Definitely worth a visit! Only drawback - server didn’t check in much, but she was incredibly nice. And we were there close to close so I understand.
Sat for 20 minutes waiting for our order to be taken but she finally showed up. Food came out quick and was totally worth the wait. Food was delicious. I will definitely eat here again.
My fiancé is Puerto Rican. Anytime we travel, he wants to go to a Spanish restaurant. I found this place. There was no wait. The service was excellent. The appetizers to the Cuban bread to our entrees; Everything was delicious. Food came out hot and fresh. We may be returning back before we leave Key West.
Loved Tomas/Thomas the bartender outside! He was so friendly and made the best mudslides and dirty bananas. He told us how to make it too, since he makes them special. 10/10 would recommend whatever this guy is making because he’s extremely talented and has an amazing education around drink-making. He’s like a scientist of liquor!
We dined on the patio at El Meson de Pepes after sunset. There was a bit of a wait and service was on the slower side, but this can be forgiven given how many people are at Mallory Square that time of day.
The food was satisfactory, though hard to compare with some of the well-known Cuban establishments in Miami.
Mixed feelings..the waitress assigned was rude and unwilling, the manager trying to organize, made everything worse, finally a new waitress was assigned and everything changed, she was the best, the best attitude and desire to work, keep it up girl, in the future you will be able to handle a successful business. The food as always was fantastic.
Today's special lobster soup was rather perfunctory, but the others were okay. The decoration in the store is very nice
We had a wonderful dinner at El Meson De Pepe. The food was excellent and the server was great. We enjoyed the live music and watching the end of the sunset. We would definitely go back.
The skirt steak was very good, cooked perfect. The conch fritters were also cooked perfectly, the conch was pretty chewy so wasn’t really our thing but that’s us. The combo plate, overall it was good but I thought it could’ve had more flavor. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We had heard a lot of good things but I think for the price it just wasn’t a place I’d go back to or I’d try something different.
Great place to enjoy some Cuban cuisine. This came highly recommended from the locals and it didn’t disappoint. Great drinks and very good food.
