The best bar in Wisconsin. Great food and friendly staff.
Very busy Friday night - staff was very accommodating and the perch was well worth the wait. We will make the Chuckwagon a must every time we come back
When our crew was working on a project in the area, we needed a place for lunch. The local HVAC guys said try Chuckwagon. Indeed, it was excellent. The food has great grilled flavor, and definitely worth the drive.
The chili was also excellent.
Faith was an AMAZING waitress. She was the only waitress at the time (from what I saw) and she did excellent! The food was great, the service was great, and we left very happy! We will absolutely be back.
Great food and great service. It was extremely busy when we went in and there was one bar tender and one server. Both did an awesome job keeping up and staying on top of everything.
I've dined here at least 6 times in the last year and have not once been disappointed in their food. You don't want to miss Friday Fish Fry, but be prepared to wait. FYI, please DO NOT seat yourself. There is one extremely capable head server there that will put your name on the wait list. You definitely do not want to jump ahead of someone who has been waiting for 30 minutes and sit at that table that just got cleaned. There's a family atmosphere with a full bar and tons of tasty options. Fantastic cheese curds and the best catfish I've ever put on my mouth. I hate to give them such a glowing review because they're already busy, but I can't lie. They're just awesome!
I really enjoy coming here for dinner. The food is good, the atmosphere is great (on Fridays is their Fish Fry night, like every other restaurant here in the great UP. It's loud, friendly, everyone seems to know everyone) and it's family-friendly. The customers are wonderful because no one gets angry about the slower service, due to not enough servers. Yes, you'll need to wait a bit longer for your food, but that's everywhere. The servers don't act harried or treat you like "Omg, hurry up, already! I have 20 people waiting!" Nor do they ignore you, if you need a refill on your Coke. The building looks like a log cabin, both inside and out, which lends a cozy feeling to the restaurant. My family and I are transplants here, but the Chuckwagon makes us feel like Yoopers. The fish is excellent and unfortunately is so good, we have not been able to break ourselves away to try anything else.
If you DO decide to come on a Friday, be prepared to wait a little while; this is a Yooper favourite place to eat.
Good food. Servers were friendly and kept up with everything even though we were a larger party then they usually do.
Food was really good. My favorite was the atmosphere and that the menu included items that aren't everyday. I recommend the jalapeno stuff ravioli! Yum!
