Looking for a Thai restaurant, what made me go there was the comment about the location. Passed by this gas station for years but never stopped. WOW what a treat great tasting food at a reasonable price. When I am in the area I will be coming back to try more of their selections too bad I don't live closer or I would come weekly at least!

This is the best Thai food around, hands down. They use to have a restaurant on 25 named WanPen several years ago. I’ve been eating WanPens cooking for 20 years.

Advisory: Ensure your food has been manually mixed prior devouring. We had the drunken noodles with chicken not spicy, satay chicken, spring rolls, wonton chips, it was absolutely delicious. It’s primarily a take out spot, however there is a lot of indoor seating, at whims to the weather though.

I love this place, and and I stop in for a meal (and often some takeout) every time I go by. Ms. Wan Pen is always cheerful and welcoming, they will whip up delicious, authentic food every time. I can say that, because I lived in Thailand, for two years. I try the local Thai restaurants wherever I am, and this unassuming place is really good.
If you are local, you have probably driven past it more than once without realizing that there’s an actual restaurant inside the Citgo gas station store.
Try it !

Located in a Citgo gas station so it's all about to go. Ya pretty much have to know where its there and be determined to find it, only a small yellow sign on the gas station.
I got drunken noodles which weren't typical wide noodles but quite tasty 😋 We shared some very good tom yum with chicken, and my husband had something like chicken larb, very citrusy flavor.
No online menu but a large menu at the counter.
Best Thai food we've had in the Ashville metro area which unfortunately isn't saying a lot. Very inexpensive n authentic.
We'll definitely return and highly recommend 👌 👍

We have loved coming here for over 10 years now. The owner is always so friendly. The best eggrolls and dumplings you will ever eat. I get the E7 and add chilli power from her spice tray for a little kick.

I search for Thai food everywhere I travel. While attending the RootsWeek retreat I ate at 3 differnt Thai restaurants and this little hole in the wall was by far the best of them all! Best service! Made me feel like I was part of the family! And nothing beats Mama's cooking!

The food was pretty good. My husband said his tom ka was missing certain ingredients. My chicken curry seemed to be as well. It was still delicious. Anyway, the disappointment was that the bathroom at the location was not clean. Whenever I visit a place with an unclean bathroom, I can't help but think that this is the same place my cook uses to wash their hands 😖

Excellent renditions of classic Asian dishes. For the quality and portions the food is absolutely worth what you pay. The only hit this place takes from me is the location in a gas station.its clean and ok...but with food like this you should be front and center in your own establishment..however don't let that keep you from trying the food if you havnt.near perfection

Visiting from Chicagoland area . Interesting location for Thai food. You would not think it would be any good, but this place ranks higher than most Thai places in the city - taste wise. Food was still hot after 30+ min because it had additional foil wrapping. Crab rangoons were flaky thin, crispy, and tasty.
Hidden gem - as the other poster stated.
