I love finding the "local" spots to eat and this place didn't let me down. I had the roast beef lunch special (check out the picture) and it was amazing. Lunch plate with drink for around 10 bucks was a huge value. The staff and owners were extremely pleasant and greeted every customer like they'd been there 100 times.

This was a delightful surprise! I flew into the Ashville airport and was looking for dinner closeby. The best roast beef that I have had in years. Others were raving about the fried chicken-takes 20-30 minutes cuz they make it fresh to order. Mac and cheese was outstanding. Green beens a little sweet. And complimentary soft serve iced cream. Staff was a bit diorganized and slow as molasses, but this added to the charm. Friendly as can be.

We had a great experience for lots of reasons! We enjoyed a pleasurable afternoon drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway and decided to stop for barbeque on the way home. We asked if we could feed a family of 6 for $20. We ordered a BBQ plate for the kids, and Cindy piled the food on for us. She gave us way more than regular servings! She was so generous to us! Then someone (I don't know who) paid our tab for us without our knowing it! Cindy told us to enjoy bottomless fountain drinks and all six of us got a bowl of ice cream! And it didn't cost us a dime (yes, we paid it forward)! The food was really tasty, there was a fine selection of appetizing sides, and my wife and I were able to split a baby rack of ribs and three sides. Nobody left hungry, and the staff were all very attentive to us, asking multiple times if we needed anything. I don't expect everyone who visits the Circle B Ranch BBQ will have the same great experience we did, but I guarantee that when we drive through the area we have a very high likelihood of returning. Thanks, Cindy, and the kind person who paid for our meal, and the rest of the great staff for giving me and my family a dining experience we won't forget!

Goodness. Best fried chicken I ever ate. Everything is good. Tender brisket and awesome potato salad. Its a no frills local joint that pumps out some of the best dam chicken in town. Nothing was boiled as one other reviewer said and if getting a big portion is a complaint than ill complain away. Call ahead for the chicken and be patient, its well worth every minute.

VERY very tasty food!!! The nicest owners I've ever met. My husband and I are here on business and decided to try something new. We are definitely happy with this choice. The beef brisket was delicious... baked beans to die for. Their homemade BBQ sauces ate wonderful. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!

The BEST fried chicken in the Southeast.. Period. I have been addicted to fried chicken since birth. I have traveled far and wide and in all my journeys I have never had fried bird this righteous; harmoniously calling the millions of taste buds in my watering mouth to euphoric bliss.. every - single - bite. Don't be put off by the "cook to order" practice.. just call 30 minutes ahead.

Oh my god. You'd think it'd be a lot easier to find a BBQ place that has baked mac and cheese and hushpuppies...but maybe not. This place has that as well as three BBQ sauces...including my fave-eastern NC vinegar. Family that runs the place is a hoot and you really feel at home. Warning- sign says fried chicken can take 30 min, but I hear its worth it.

You Know Thats Right. Sometimes its nice to get back to basics; step away from the finer dining establishments and all the fancy talk and pedigrees that they doll up their menus with, and instead seek out some honest to goodness, home style cookin. After all, it wasnt too long ago that people were able to enjoy some fried chicken without requiring the birds birth certificate and bill of health, right? Youd have to think that there are some places that havent got caught up in all that brouhaha and still do things the way their mama showed them. Well, Im here to tell you that indeed, there are, and that Circle B Ranch is one of them. <br/>We shuffled in one bright, Tuesday afternoon, hankerin for some of that bird. The lady runnin the line looked at me like I was crazy when I asked for two breasts. "Did you phone in a order?" she challenged. "No" I calmly replied. "Well, you know that it gonna take 30 minutes?" I told her I know, that all good fried chicken takes that long. Then she warmed up, shakin her head, sayin; "You know thats right". In addition to the breast I added a side of their baked mac & cheese, while the lady of the house chose to go with some potato salad. We took our silverware over to a table and listened to some holy roller radio for a bit before picking our way through the Mountain Express. Half an hour later, give or take, our plates came home. It was a big'n; mine. I sliced right into it and all the juicy goodness pulled away from the bone without a fight, I dabbed a chunk in some BBQ sauce and BINGO; delicious love. The batter was nothing too complex; nice and crispy and not at all greasy. The Mac & Cheese was pretty good, though a little tired, as it was taken from the tail end of what was left in the tray (it was getting close to 2 in the afternoon and I imagine that it would score higher around noonish) Across the way, Mrs. McStyles reported that the potato salad was mighty fine. Yes, everything was exactly as we hoped it would be and the price was right too; with an iced tea our bill was a whopping $11. Mmmmhhm Hmmmm, you know thats right.<br/>Grade: B+ (calling in your order, to shave a little waiting time off, isnt such a bad idea)

Not a Keeper. I took Wild Tairzz to the Circle B Ranch BBQ on the strength of the reviews on this site. She ordered the ribs. She said they tasted boiled, so I tasted them and it seemed pretty obvious that she was right. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich. The pork was very vinegary and left the bun so soggy that I discarded it about halfway through the sandwich and just ate the meat.. The sauces and sides were unexceptional. There is no reason to ever return here. There are much better bbq joints in the area.

Everything was so delicious! Went with my family and we all got something different and everything was cooked perfectly and the taste was excellent. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. We were initially skeptical because its located in a Gas station plaza but so glad we stopped because the BBQ was top notch!

Let down. Yesterday I went to the BBQ place because my daughter had said, "Mom OMG, the ribs are good the bbq is good and mom, no no no wait even the sides were good." I couldn't wait to give it a try. When I got there I was confused because it look like it was a buffet, and the prices on the board look like family prices. I say that because you can by an 8 piece chicken. I didn't know whether to wait to be seated or not or get in line. No one spoke to us or even acknowledged that we were there and they were non busy enough to follow the leader so we left and I never got a chance to try it. I think there should be signs or maybe someone to greet you at the door in case like myself had not been there before and had no idea what to do.

One of the Best BBQs!. Me & my wife have been taking a yearly trip to Asheville and the Blue Rigde Mountains every year for the past 3 years - its become a tradition now. And part of the tradition is to eat at Circle B Ranch BBQ everytime we are up there! We found this restaurant as it was right next to our hotel near the airport and I am glad we did. It's quite a long drive from Florida, but its more than worth it! The pulled pork is really delicious - my wife loves the Vinegar based BBQ sauce while I adore the hot ketchup based BBQ sauce. But this last time we tried Fried Chicken - as soon as I bit into it, it felt like pure bliss. After a long day of hiking and driving around, the fried chicken hit the spot. I was told about the 30 min wait, but trust me - its more than worth the 30 min wait. The sides are really tasty too. I havent had anything that I didnt like at this restaurant. The wait staff and the owners are extremely friendly. <br/>One bad thing about this - I dont think I will ever be completely satisfied with any other fried chicken. I have been spoiled by the taste of the fried chicken at Circle B Ranch!!

Ok I am gonna give you an honest review .. First off I love good BBQ so after reading the reviews I had to try this place. Well imagine my surprise when it was horrible. I got the ribs and they were boiled to the point of NO flavor. Besides boiled ribs are not BBQ thats just lazy. The sauce was thin and not very good. The sides weren't even good. The only thing that was good was the service. There has to be better BBQ out there. I do not recommend.

Cleanest Pulled Pork Around. I've been going to Circle B/Big J's for years. First and foremost, the family who owns it is fantastic. Super friendly every time we go. As for the BBQ, it is by far my favorite (Which says a lot in the Land of 12 Bones). Their BBQ is pulled with care and its amazingly clean. No chunks of black, no fat, just perfect and juicy. You can't go wrong with the BBQ Plate, mixed with (the best) baked beans, and cole slaw. Ribs and chicken are always a hit too. Classic southern cooking connected to a gas station! Can't beat it. (You can also order to-go from their BBQ shack in S. Asheville. It's called Big J's Bubba Q.)

The Best!. Conflict of interest alert. They are a client, but I was a loyal customer long before creating video for them. <br/>Simply the best BBQ within 100+ miles; maybe farther. Bubba is the master chef and takes pride in everything menu from the meat all the way to the green beans and baked bean (terrific in their own right).

You must try the Fried Chicken. I know this is listed as a BBQ restaurant and indeed I have had the fare under that heading. It along with the roast beef and brisket are very good. Wonderful side dishes such as potatoes and corn along with cornbread were tasty as well.<br/><br/>All that aside I was able to eat here again last week. When I entered this time I took a bit more time than to just roll down the line and get my plates. When I noticed they had a 1/4 chicken with two sides and drink for $6.50 I decided to give that a try. I honestly was a bit taken back when I ordered as I was told would take approximately 30 minutes. I looked and my watch and did some quick math. By the time I was done with the USA Today paper I had in tow I would not be there long before the chicken was done. I took my drinking glass and settled into a booth to read. I was only a page or two away from being done with paper when my order of candied sweet potatoes, corn and chicken arrived. A 1/4 chicken in this case was one leg and one thigh. They were not kidding when the server told me to be careful it had just came from the kitchen. Now bear in mind I have ate alot of chicken in my time..but..this was one of the best places I have ever been served chicken this good. I don't know if it was the wait or the couple tea refills I had but this chicken was good enough to make you slap your moma. Great coating, not too sweet, not to salty but a good hint of both. The inside was done to perfection as well. I typically do not eat all the skin / coating anywhere but I left not even a morsel on the plate when I left. <br/><br/>To recap...try the chicken, any two sides and enjoy. I did.

Big J's is it Circle J BBQ Ranch. Circle B BBQ is cat's A$$<br/>I have been going to J's in Royal Pines for a long time since 1996 but only open a few hours during the week and it was always great. Then they open on Airport Road. When I saw the sign I was calling, every week. I was there on opening day. Pulled pork, ribs, brisket, chicken (both lite and dark) is so good. Now about a year ago J added cooked Roast Beef. Sliceed thin and a good portion to boot. I am talking a 15 pound chunk of beef so good you'll go home and slap your wife and say " Why can't you do this?":) They have the fixings to go with all of that also. Thay even have fresh Collards and Green Beans. The Slaw is very good and the Sweet Tators are always so good. This is a 9 out of 10 always. The staff is always so nice, honey and sugar all the time.
