I never had pepper steak and rice before but I definitely enjoyed it. I ordered inside and had a reasonable wait. The restaurant is pretty inside with nize booths. The staff is so nice & willing to answer questions. The lunch specials are great only 6.99 a meal comes with an egg roll & I forgot the other option.

I placed my order online before opening hours with no trouble and asked for noon pickup. I only waited a few minutes when I arrived, I'm guessing because I'd ordered Mongolian beef and typically that isn't made ahead of time. The restaurant was simply decorated and clean and had a good atmosphere. The lady who helped us was pleasant. We ordered the Mongolian beef, sesame chicken, sesame beef, egg foo young and hot n' sour soup. Everything was good and exceeded expectations. We will go back and are looking forward to trying more dishes.

I go here regularly and the staff is always prompt to help every customer and they pick up calls almost immediately when ordering ahead! I’ve had a lot of Chinese food in the Indy area and this is by far the best! Also the food here is great, not just once, but every time I order! It’s delicious! Highly recommend :)

We love this place and have been ordering take - outs for the past 8 years every time we are in the area. Consistent flavor, freshness and portions. Order timing is always reasonable with very seldom delays during busy lunch hours. Shrimp with garlic sauce and beef with garlic sauce are our favorite! Combo options are great!

I would say this is one of my favorite places to get Chinese food. I have read other reviews about this place being horrible at delivery which is something i can't agree upon as I never had delivery. Instead, order for takeout/ dine-in in the restaurant as it took usually 30 minutes at most for the food to be ready. The food tasted really good and not at all flavorless for me. I have had no usual problems with anything related to the food or containers of the restaurant. I say some people critique this place a bit too harsh for the place just because of the delivery since they did like the food when it was delivered. That's all I have to say as I have had no problems with this place so far.

Happy Dragon was a little above mediocre overall. The inside was dirty and dusty on the walls and ceiling, but the tables were clean. The food was decent. The vegetable fried rice didn't have a ton of flavor, but there was mostly vegetables in it. The sweet n sour sauce had some citrus flavoring I'm not used to but it was okay. The chicken was fresh and not overcooked. They took coupons4indy discount which ended up feeding my family of 4 for under 20 dollars with leftovers to spare. I'll try them again. It's not always stellar even where I usually go for Chinese food.

I don't do a lot of reviews but I had to take the time to do this one. My family ordered from here frequently before I ever checked online. The low scores everyone posted are shocking and probably out-dated. One guy even rated 1 star because the sauce spilled on his Mercedes seat. Seriously? Everyone knows you set a bag of saucy food on the floor mat! Rating 1 star for that is silly. Most people complain about slowness. I've never had a problem with this maybe because I don't do delivery--I pickup my food, typically after getting my daughter from gymnastics at nearby Devaus'. Even better, whenever I order online it's a great experience: I place my order, set the time and when I go to pick it up, it's ready. The food is good and that's what really matters. This seems to be a family-run business and they do a great job. They absolutely don't deserve 3 stars. Whatever timing issue they maybe used to have seems to be fixed. So if you're concerned about the negative reviews, perhaps just order online and pickup your food and you'll be fine. Today, I placed an online order around 10:30am, selected 11:00a for the time, in the comments, I said, "hopefully, it can be ready no later than 11:15a" and when my wife got there at 11:05, it was ready and we were eating with my dad on his 11:30a lunch break. Smooth and the food was great. What more do you need?
