Cedar Valley Cafe

My first few visits for this place were five stars. Slowly, it dropped to a one star. I came here nine days, and ended up ordering a Super Falafel, and 22 Falafels. It started out nice. Usually a friendly waitress, good service. Since I was visiting on lunch, I only had an hour, and it took twenty minutes to drive there. Then I switched to ordering, and picking up. The first week, each wrap I ordered I asked for olives. At my local Lebanese spot, they are free. No trouble. The first six days they charged me 50 cents each. Then they upped it to $1, and said they wouldn't put them on anymore because it took them too much time. Finally, they started charging 2.99 for them on the side, a little mini bucket. What bugged me the most was the attitude of the girl helping me at checkout. Incredibly short and rude. One is rolling the dice with service. Unfortunately, there aren't many options out this way for plant based food- so one will probably be stuck between this place, or a salad from Wendys.

This place is a gem! Authentic middle eastern food which reminds me of my time in Palestine for my cross cultural (it's the tropical painted building that is across from Deitz's and next to Marathon Gas on Tiffin Ave). Lemon Rice Soup and Fatoosh, and then I ordered a gyro with rice (sour yogurt on the rice), and my folks ordered hummus with chicken and beef. And I know it's greak, but also a Spinitch pie. Excellent service as well at Cedar Valley Cafe. If you have a large group, i would strongly recommend the party platters. Falafel, grape leaves, and kifta are good there as well.

Stopped in today and was very pleased. Staff was friendly for starters. Wife got the jumbo beef gyro I had the jumbo chicken gyro. And we did the onion rings for appetizers. The rings where crispy. The chicken gyro tasted great. And jumbo is definitely the right word. The beef was good but we agreed we definitely prefer the chicken. Next time plan on having the lamb. Price was great and the service was top notch. Only disappointment was it had taken us so long to try this place.
