Love it! Fantastic staff and the best service you'll ever receive! They also deliver. Good food, fast service, quiet atmosphere. Best restaurant in town.
Great first time. I had a great time at this restaurant. The good wasn't long a wait and was good quality for the price as well. I was really impressed with the hot tea selection available as well. The decor could use an update but overall was a great time. Much better than buffet!!
Nice place, good food. Formosa is perched on a hillside on College Ave which gives it a nice, dramatic look from the street and nice view from inside. On my first visit the other evening I found it fairly quiet, which meant I got great service. The Jasmine tea with their special steeping cups was quite good. The hot & sour soup was good with a nice balance of seasoning. I also had the spicy crispy beef which is one of the house specialties and it was also very good--I ate the whole thing!
Great food! My family's fave restaurant! We are there at least once a week. The veggies are always fresh and local. The service is OUTSTANDING and the prices are reasonable. They don't use MSG on anything that is made there which is pretty much everything but egg rolls and spring rolls. If you're looking for awesome Chinese food with a great atmosphere you should check it out. They are open everyday except Monday, serve lunch and early bird specials, and even deliver after 5:30.

Absolutely Fantastic!. My wife and I frequent Formosa about once every other week, and we are never let down. The food is fresh and not bogged down by sodium or MSG. It tastes like real food, something you don't get at other Chinese restaurants around here. It's a great value for the food and you'll oftentimes get more than you can eat in one sitting. One dish of Chicken Fried Rice is easily enough to split between two people. If you really want a value, though, stop in for the early birds (between 4 and 6, I think). We do that a lot and between both of us getting our own meal and an appetizer, our ticket is still under $30. Even more amazing is that the staff has always been super friendly to us and treat us like guests rather than customers, something that is very rare in any restaurant.
The steamed dumplings are our favorite appetizer - just thinking about them is a mouth-watering experience. I'm partial to the General's Chicken or Sesame Chicken, so much so that I can't stand to eat it anywhere else now.
Do yourself a favor - stop in and give it a try. It is well worth it and both your taste buds and your stomach will appreciate you for it.
Customer. The food at Formosa is great and the people are most helpful and I would highly recommend it all my friends and all people who enjoy excellent Chinese food

Response that may be helpful to some of the Reviewers. In the spirit of full disclosure, I really like most of the food here so I am a bit partial. There are other dishes I am not particularly fond of. I think it should be pointed out that Formosa does not use MSG in their food with the exception of a couple side items like egg-rolls that they don't personally prepare. Thus I assure you that you will not receive an "MSG Headache" from eating here. Just ask what items to steer clear of next time you eat here.
As for the dear lady with "rotten chicken" in her meal, I have to assume you are accurately portraying your experience. All I can say is, once again, in the spirit of full disclosure, I know the owner of this restaurant (as anyone who eats there regularly will get to) and this is VERY odd. I am quite certain that rotten food being served to a customer would quickly result in a cook being terminated--possibly even before they were fired:) She would not take kindly to that level of incompetence at all. I also can't imagine her requiring anyone to pay for food that is "literally rotten". As my wife used to serve here quite some time ago, I have witnessed at least one incident where something minor but legitimate was wrong with the food and it was quickly and apologetically rectified. I don't know what to say other than, in my experience, this just doesn't happen. I am certain this is very much an isolated incident assuming it is being accurately described. However I don't think this lady would make this up judging from her other reviews. I think she must have just had a really bad experience and that is unfortunate.
As for the couple reviews were people have not liked the food and seem to be complaining that they were required to pay for it, well, um....yea. You know if you don't like the food at a restaurant then you don't return and you give it a dislike on urban spoon. That part of the review I am fine with. However OF COURSE you still have to pay for it! Perhaps some restaurants have a different policy however I don't think they are doing society any favors. These are the comments that make me embarrassed to be american. You purchased something. You did not like it, but there was NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. These are the people who try to return a toy to Condom Sense! Nobody wants it now...it has been devalued by the introduction of your fluids (saliva in this case). Other people seemed to like it just fine. Your personal taste can not be insured by every restaurant you patron. Don't be an idiot. You have to pay for your food even if it does not please your pallet. I REALLY don't like that egg dish they make with the gravy stuff on it. I won't ever order it again. I LUV their pan fried noodles. Guess what, when I ordered that nasty egg stuff I paid for it...because I ordered it.
Also, this restaurant is closed on mondays. You will note that the complaint about the phone not being answered was a monday. They used to be open on monday. If you have an outdated menu it may not accurately reflect their business hours.
FYI, updates & info. The menu on the website is outdated. they are closed on mondays and only deliver after 5:30pm. also there is no msg in any of the foods minus the shu mai, egg roll, and spring rolls. if you want authentic foods, ask. they will tell you which items are not, but they only use local produce, so don't expect anything like leek. veges will be substituted with locally grown. also if you dine in they have an extra page in the menu that slips out easily. if it is not in your menu folder, ask the server or host/ess to bring you one. it has added on dinner entrees & appetizers, kids menu and dinner specials for 2 or more people listed on it. often times the dinner special for 2 can feed 4.
Great tasting Japanese food. (sweet and sour chicken is best for carnivors.)(lo main is best for vegetarians.)
Nice place. Nice people and good food but we still haven't found a good over the top Chinese restaraunt in Fayetteville yet but we are still trying.

The absolute BEST Asian-American food restaurant in ALL of Northwest Arkansas. If you do not eat here, you are missing out on life itself. The cooks are amazing. The flavors are other-worldly. The customer service is impeccable. A 10/10 on my scale!!!
Formasa's food is always delivered so hot and fresh to me. They use quality containers for your food, and you can tell everything is so fresh. 10/10
We have been trying to find good Chinese food since moving here in 2013. We found it. The best egg foo yung, crunchy sweet and sour chicken, and flavorful sample platter. Pleasant atmosphere, friendly service, tasty food, at reasonable prices. Highly recommend.
Amazing food and absolute 10 out of 10. Got delivered earlier than I was told on the phone. A little pricey but worth it.
The food was pretty good. The orange chix was kind of dry. But I was VERY disappointed with the portion compared to the price.
In comparison the buffet at Pavilion would have been a whole lot cheaper. Even ordering a couple different entrees like I did would have been less expensive at Hunan Manor.
