I used to frequent Boiler Room more often, especially while in college, but stopped after my card had been overcharged on two different occasions (more than what my total was + tip...I kept my receipt) and the staff wasn't apologetic and didn't give me any details on why that might have happened. I finally went back for the first time in 2+ years and wasn't impressed. I remember them having the BEST bacon dip appetizer, and decided to order it for takeout. I'm not sure what happened, but the quality control on the bacon was absolutely terrible. My to-go container of dip was full of super fatty bacon. It wasn't melt in your mouth fatty, but hard and really chewy fatty. I had to go through in pick out all the fat because I literally couldn't even chew through the dip. The appetizer used to be served with tortilla chips and is now served with baguette slices, which is fine, but the slices they gave me were just covered in salt. The appetizer was a total fail and my french toast wasn't great either. It didn't come with the glaze/icing it was supposed to have. Our order wasn't cheap, we tipped generously, and it just wasn't worth it.

We enjoyed the scotch eggs. I had the chicken and waffles which I enjoyed a lot, but the sausage was a bit too strong for me. Chris had the meatloaf melt which he enjoyed but he was not overly impressed. The atmosphere was interesting reflecting a bit of steam punk.

This place is so cool, plus the food is excellent! They follow Covid protocol which is nice. Our server was great and was very helpful with explaining the items on the menu since it was our first time there. The drink from the bar was so good! Easily made my best top 3 drinks. Our food came out piping hot and fresh! Loved it! We will be visiting again very soon.

Very nice atmosphere!! Food was alright. Nothing to rave about, in my opinion. Small portions as well… This is more of a beer and appetizer place. If you want to have a good dinner, go somewhere else.

Every time I have been I have only had their burgers, I like them. Wait staff you can tell are a close not group, good service. Food comes quick. I'm not much of a drinker, but they they are on top of their game, they check up on you. Great experience. Only thing is if you don't where they are they could be hard to find.

Have been here a few times and enjoyed it but the most recent visit was really disappointing. Almost no gluten free options, we asked out server what was gluten free and she said the only option was a burger with a gluten free bun, no other side options but a fruit cup were gluten free. Strange that there isn’t even a steak/baked potato option, that’s pretty standard at most restaurants. We ordered a gluten free burger but it came with a regular bun, not gf even though gf was emphasized several times. Our server was nice and immediately remade it but the whole group had already finished eating by the time it came back out. The boiler room is a good place but not if you have any dietary restrictions.

Update: My friend took me here for my birthday. We waited over an hour and didn't get our food...we politely asked how much longer to the hostess and she said she will let our waiter know. We went about our conversation when the waiter approached he was rude, loud, and angry.. he obviously had a bad day but picking a fight with the customers and taking his anger out on us was not only unprofessional but unacceptable. When I say he was loud, I mean loud where the restaurant could hear and were staring. I have rated them before and gave a 4 star because the waiter was sweet but the long wait is a trend here. If you want to eat by 2pm for example come by 11:30am ...apparently they need more time than an average restaurant to prep your food.. they are slow. Not slow like extra 15 minutes but slow like wait over an hour kind of slow even days they're not busy. I understand might be under staffed but the customer service is a zero here. I've gone to every place in downtown and never had horrible service like I have had here and of all days MY BIRTHDAY!!! I am also one who doesn't ever leave bad reviews unless it's an extreme situation...this was one of the very very very few times I've had one and it was here. We ended up leaving after waiting over an hour and going out some where else to eat.
PREVIOUS VISIT AND REVIEW:
Food was beautiful looking but taste was okay for me. Not bad but not so Amazing either. The server was a sweet girl but kinda slow and got our orders mixed up and our bills, which isn't the end of the world or didn't upset me. Just one of those things hard not to notice.

The many times in which my wife and I have been to the Boiler Room it's always been good. This day we had the Scotch eggs, Breakfast casserole, and the Bloody Mary bar. All of what we had was excellent.
We were with another couple and they were Gluten free. There were a few GF options but not many sadly because of breading on the items. Excluding that however the service and food was excellent as was the downtown setting.
If your not Gluten free this is a great spot!
And the tap options are fantastic!
If you're going there for Breakfast or Brunch be sure to try the Scotch Eggs, Breakfast Tacos, and Breakfast Casserole.
And do yourself a favor and just put the Spicy Maple Aioli on EVERYTHING!
