Have been looking for a really great cafe with a cool vibe for 2.5 yrs now since leaving LA. Today I’m SO happy to share I found it! For any of you SOCAL expats or cool dudes who have also been seeking the same, look no further. Horizon Cafe in Fairview is my new java and health food nirvana. Danny is the genius chef who creates hemp-derived culinary masterpieces. Love these folks. I foresee amazing things ahead for them 🌈🍃😎

Very very cute inside. I love seeing a business like this in Fairview. I’m really glad they are here! Remember: cash only, and enjoy a latte while you browse. I would love to see Fairview transformed into a charming historic well designed little city. These guys just started a very desirable trend.

Heads Up:

I had the pleasure of visiting this quaint little cafe/restaurant during my visit in Nashville. It has the most charming and inviting atmosphere, with an edgy twist. I expected to walk into a “stoner house” and instead found myself completely impressed and excited. My friend Danny is the Head Chef here (also a USMC Veteran)and did and excellent job educating me on CBD and how it’s infused into the food. The ingredients are one of a kind and I was a complete virgin to these unique and tasty treats.
The menu is excellently diverse with vegetarian and vegan options, they take allergies and specific orders very seriously. You can never go wrong with deviled eggs, it had the perfect amount of spice and zest. The sandwich with Pimiento Cheese was perfectly balanced with the Tomato Bisque, which the most amazing thing I’ve ever tasted. The roasted stuffed chicken breast is served with a coconut lemon rice topped with a broccoli slaw. It comes with a delicate and perfectly portioned mint-pesto sauce and lemongrass mintdemi. I am personally not a fan of pesto, however the mint truly calms the aggressive pesto taste and I couldn’t stop eating it. I’ve never had fried green tomatoes and I am SO glad I did! It is fried with a perfect amount of breading made from garbanzo beans as well as the fried ochre. Danny took a chance by introducing me to an idea he had, fried cornbread balls with a veggie core, OMG please make this permanent on the menu!! I am in food heaven, I don’t think I’ve ever eaten this healthy, this much at one time and felt so great when I left.
I tried the raspberry kombucha, amazing delightful. Most kombucha’s are overpowered with a vinegar taste, which I recently fell out of love with. It was like drinking a fresh pressed juice, yummy! I also tried the espresso (straight up), perfectly sweet and bold. It gave me the pep I needed after my food coma.
The staff is incredibly hospitable and welcomes you with a southern charm. They are well versed in the CBD, THC and food world, ask any and all questions you have. This cafe is quiet, clean and spacious for any and all kinds of love. You won’t regret visiting, it’s just 25 minutes in the country outside of Nashville. Ask about private events, they cater.
Cheers to the once in a lifetime experience!

My husband and I absolutely loved our meal there. He had the French toast stuffed churro special with a latte with hemp milk and CBD. I had the Italian Parmesan wings special with bean and corn salad and cole slaw. Every component was well thought out and very intentional and DELICIOUS. The drive from Nashville was well worth it and we will definitely be coming back. They are cash only, but there are atms within a minutes drive.

Nice place with a cool vibe with some unique offerings. Hands down a better alternative place to eat out in Fairview. We had funky chicken and the blitz sandwiches with potato salad and tomato bisque soup. You have an option of sourdough or hemp bread, we tried both. All were delicious, the portions were just right. I noticed some greens that I couldn't identify in my sandwich (hemp?)😊... They use sunflower sprouts instead of lettuce! How cool!
Kombucha and mint infused water were ok.
I heard their coffee and smoothies are delicious. Will be back to try them out!

I ordered smoked chicken and they were out. Then i wanted a salad with grilled chicken, out of that as well. Then i wanted a turkey sandwich, also out of that. I finally ordered their ham sandwich with the tomato jam on the side (i don’t even like ham but whatever) and they finally brought it out and the jam was not on the side. It was ok but not great. They also don’t take cards. Don’t recommend.

THEY ARE NO LONGER CASH ONLY
My wife and I have eyed this place for a few weeks. We love the atmosphere, and the food, and the drinks. Stop in for a quick bite, a coffee, or some local brewed kambucha. Of course, CBD is the theme so you can get infused items such as the kambucha or the hemp bread. We tried the Good sandwich and had some kombucha. We will definitely be back for breakfast (before 11am), and will probably be back for some evening food and drink as well. The staff was nice and cheerful, and you can tell they enjoy being there. Great place to relax or meet up with a group. We will be regulars.

It doesn't look like much outside, and I was hesitant to go in... because it looked closed, but BOY the food is fantastic and I'm SO happy I took a chance. Every meal I get there is JUST the right amount of food. It is utterly healthy, delicious and leaves me feeling perfecty content. The CBD if it makes me healthy is a plus, I have had no ill effects from it... but I'd come here if it had nothing to do with hemp, so I don't mind the hemp theme and medicinals.
