Epoch Gastropub

The menu is superb, ambiance is great, service is good..but Katie the manager is amazing! She went above and beyond tonight. We stumbled on the restaurant because we are staying in the hotel, but we will return even when we aren't staying at the Exeter Inn. Katie greeted us, made sure everything was good and even helped with a personal issue. We appreciate this kind of customer service. Thank you

The pros.... The food is really good and the pricing on point. The Cons... We were at the bar and the service was terrible on a Friday night. Long waits and uninterested bartenders.... UPDATE! Went back on a weds night... the bartender was terrible. Attitude and rudeness is not how u tend bar UPDATE! UPDATE!! WOW! what a difference! New bartender Krista is a rockstar! Great service, great drinks and amazing atmosphere! Our family had an incredible experience and will be back! Thank u Krista!

To start on a positive, the tomato soup was delicious and our cocktails were good. Unfortunately the rest of our experience was terrible. Being sat right next to the largest table in the restaurant and next to the staff computer when the rest of the restaurant was pretty empty was confusing. Spending our meal listening to the staff having discussions at the computer and pop music playing from a random speaker (not the same music playing in the rest of the restaurant) was extremely irritating. The rest of our food was bland, I couldn't even finish half of my meal. I had the fish tacos, my husband had the burger and the cheese wasn't even melted on his burger. Overall a very disappointing experience and will not be coming back.

Big fan of Epoch. Blue Moon and Otis are the gold standards for Exeter but if you want a tasty meal any night of the week, lots of options, a lengthy selection of New England beers, plus a high end relaxed vibe, then look no further than Epoch in Exeter. PS their cookies at the front desk are pretty darn good.

We live right down the street and look forward to anytime we are able to stop in for dinner, drinks, brunch or even a movie on the lawn (we saw Hocus Pocus this past fall and it was such a fun date night!) This is one of our favorite spots in town, and it's not just because we're practically neighbors. So lucky to have this great spot in town cannot recommend it enough!
