I went to Skipper's based on the 3.5 star Google rating. It was a disappointing experience - picture a poor cousin of Long John Silver's. The fish fillets were small, thin, tough, and covered with a hard breading. Not crispy, just hard. The malt vinegar tasted like it had been generously diluted with (cheaper) cider vinegar. And the dining area was sticky and dingy. On the plus side, the cashier/server was cheerful, the fish was freshly cooked to order, and it was cheap.

Not many Skippers left. Most of the new ones (in gas stations and such) aren't as good.
Service is excellent. Food is good, chowder is great.

Place seemed a little greasy, but the food was good. That is, until we were throwing our trash away and saw a rat coming out of the kitchen.
