Everything you’re looking for in a local BBQ joint. Simple menu with all of the classics along with combo plate options. The meat is tender, juicy and the potato salad was just what I was looking for. The BBQ sauce on the table was more tomato based than I’m used to but had a nice depth of flavor. I will be coming back!

Hickory Pit catered a retirement party for us. We could not have been more pleased! The food was very good as always! Ample portions of both chicken, pork and sides. They also included all of the paper products. Cameron and his helper were on time, set everything up and were so polite and courteous and made sure that we were pleased. If you are looking for delicious food with great service for your graduation or reunion parties Hickory Pit is the one to call!

Want one of the best Bar-B-Qs around, here it is. Old time favorite; I've gone to the hickory pit since the 50's. Like going back in time, with the same great food. Reasonable priced. Sometimes it is a bit slow, as most restaurants but worth the time.

Great food!!! 3rd generation of the family is now working there. I remember Mr. Elliison 25 + years ago when I worked for Mel-Kay Electric @ Bosse Field and The Hickory 3 was our go to place for lunch. Now my son works there!!!

Was a little worried when I got there, couldn't smell any smoke or bbq. Pulled pork tasted like Mr.Bs bbq in a jar. Also got a slab of ribs for 28 bucks, very salty and little flavor. Very pricey for what it is.

Still a wonderful place to go for BBQ. An old Evansville tradition. If you haven't been there in awhile, I recommend you give them a try. 👍
