Peeled - Evanston

The rappers delight smoothie is far from a delight. All I taste is unrinsed kale. This smoothie literally tastes like dirty grass. You clearly did not put the appropriate amount of mango to balance the taste. I cannot believe I just spent $8 on dirty kale. I am coming back for a new drink on the house. This is not acceptable. You are the premier place to get smoothies in downtown Evanston, NOW ACT LIKE IT.

Awesome place to grab a quick healthy snack. They literally cut and peel and juice everything right in front of you, so it's understandable for them to take awhile to make people's orders. Only complaint is that when I walked in, both employees were busy making drinks (which was honestly fine, do your thing guys) but neither of them even acknowledged me for the first 10 minutes I was standing there waiting to order. Just please let me know that you see me standing there waiting to order and you'll be with me shortly. Otherwise, GREAT FOOD

I was assured I could redeem an expired Groupon for a juice cleanse (which I appreciated) but making that happen was impossible - after repeated attempts to contact them by phone (during working hours) and not getting my calls returned and two failed trips to the Evanston location to redeem I was instructed to make an appointment for a week ahead - I live in Chicago, not near this location so that was problematic. I even offered to redeem less than the $100 value (I would have been content with $50.00) with an in -store purchase, they said no. As a customer service speaker and trainer, I find it such a missed opportunity when businesses can't demonstrate flexibility to accommodate the customer. I would have been a loyal customer raving about their products but instead I am writing this review.

Had a bad experience at Peeled. Register girl was mad at life to begin with and then was rude as can be towards me. After we paid, she said they were out of an bananas to fill my order. I accepted the order without banana, and 1 minute later she walked outside to pick up an entire case of fresh fruit. Also 3 people after me received their order before me and when I asked what happened to mine she just lashed out and said, "you'll just have to wait". When I asked the juice girl what happened she seemed like she didn't speak English or understand what I asked. I'm done with this place. The picture below of the Asai bowl was from a previous visit.
