THE Pot pie! This is the ultimate comfort food. Perfect for a rainy Chicago evening. The roasted beets are one of several creative sides to choose from. Whimsical take on a diner atmosphere. The Lucky Platter is worth going out of your way for!

We've been meaning ta come ta this restaurant fer months, and now that we've finally made it, all I can say is I'm sorry we didn't make it sooner. The food is SOOOOOO GOOD!!!! They have an eclectic, interesting menu, and rotating specials, so you'll have plenty of reasons to revisit this establishment. The prices are reasonable, the service is excellent, the decor is quirky and fun (random paintings of random people and animals made of various metal objects, fer example), and they're extra careful about cleanliness, so you'll be at ease in every regard, with plenty of reasons ta come back. Protip: if you have leftovers, make sure ta get a large bag; there's a pantry on yer way out where you pay chock full of a variety of tasteh treats ta purchase and enjoy at home! We're gonna make this place a weekly visit! *updated 5/7/22* The above review still holds. We're not here weekly like we had originally anticipated, but that's more due ta lack of money than it is anything else; it's not a reflection on the restaurant at all. We still love it every time we're able ta visit!

I wasn't hungry so I ordered the fried green tomatoes. My waiter seemed disappointed and he never came back to my table to see if everything was okay. The 3 tomatoes were good but very thinly sliced and too pricey. I talked to the manger about the waiter and he said he would talk to him. I was not satisfied with that response but I just paid and left. ( I have been a customer off and on for years)

Gave it a 2 because of the service. I went to the door for take out unaware that it was locked and you needed to be buzzed in, so I pulled on the door twice trying to figure out what was going on and when I got inside the person at the register snapped. "The door was locked." "I keep it locked in case I have to go for food ". But he was there and he was talking to a friend! So what was the problem? This was a first. Normally the service is good. But the pot roast was still good.

Excellent pancakes, eggs and coffee. Glazed bacon is very good. Chef wait staff and front desk personal are a notch above. More like Ritz Carlton service mixed with warmth and humor.

I love this spot. My favorite dishes are the pot roast and the open faces polenta sandwich. Make sure to visit the store. A lovely selection of curated yummies, nice gift giving options. Make certain you bring home a pastry. Service is ….loving,, kind. You can taste it in the food. I eat there at least 3x a month.

This place is not your typical restaurant because everything is made from scratch. We've eaten here many times before, and while some dishes are a mainstay, you can always count on something new. I've never had a bad dish here. I had the chicken pot pie and the mac and cheese yesterday. The mac and cheese was awesome. But I do want to say the chicken pot pie was a bit dry, even after I scraped every drop of the gravy that is provided into the pie. However, the taste overcomes the dryness. You can't get tired of the "home-cooked" flavors of their dishes. Lucky Platter scores tops in this category.

This is a causal spot with a super funky atmosphere. The walls are filled with pretty bad art that is really fun to look at. The food is great and the service is fine. I’ve been coming to this establishment for about 20 years and the menu is mostly the same. I highly recommend the large house salad with toasted sesame dressing and grilled chicken breast. This is one of my all time favorite salads. We also ordered the fried green tomatoes, which were good. They also provide some cornbread on the table. Our waiter was slightly inattentive; we ended up asked a busboy and another waiter for a couple forgotten things. Overall the food is pretty good and the service is fine. I’ll absolutely come back for a quick, casual meal when I’m back in this area.
