Had lunch on the patio - Fried Prawns were delicious and Clam Chowder was great too!!!
Best Crab Louie. Crab season is on, and Gills is the best place to go for a great crab louie salad or hot crab sandwich. Casual, nautical atmosphere, nice view of the bay, good service.
Crab omelettes YUM. Wonderful little place. Seemed there was only one server for the whole restaurant, but she was nice. We got there just before a rush. The food was great. We will definitely eat there again. My husband and I both had crab omelettes, they were stuffed full of fresh crab and jack cheese. I added avocado to mine and it was amazing. My little guy had the french toast which was tasty as well, and my little girl had the kids egg and toast. They both cleared their plates. If you're in the Eureka area and looking for quality breakfast I highly recommend this place.

Great food. Wonderful little seafood restaurant. Clams, fish and great breakfasts. Only problem is the trailer trash in the area... but thats not their fault.

Go on a sunny day and sit outside. It was a lovely day, we sat outside. The place is no-frills: plastic tables and chairs, rubber placemats. Hubby had fish and chips, very sweet tasting. I had fried oysters. Only three, but they were big and juicy and probably weighed a half a pound altogether. Chowder was good, iced tea was strong (also good). Yum yum, will go again.
There's something about eating brunch with the ocean view! The food was so delicious! It was super bust but our waiter was super nice. The crab omelet was amazing and the pancakes hit the breakfast spot! They had a nice little out door area and mini garden outside with the ocean view!
This is a wonderful small local restaurant that offers delicious seafood dishes. My last visit here the food was amazing. I ordered clam chowder (the best I've had in a while) and the crab cake sandwich (amazing). Even the French fries were cooked to perfection. If you've never enjoyed a meal at Gills, you are missing out.
Great little home cooking cafe! Out of town and off the beaten path, but well worth the short drive to get there. Whe crab is in season it makes for excellent omelet and eggs benedict additions.
I've been working in Arcata and been coming here before heading into town. The view is amazing and the staff is great as well. I've been getting different dishes everytime and been amazing everytime. Highly recommended for anybody passing by.
Delicious!!! Best dining experience! Service had a warm welcoming and friendly feel to it. Attentive service, love the 50’s vibe! Will definitely be back next time we’re in town. We originally heard about this place having the best chowder and it did not disappoint - keep in mind it is seafood chowder.

Outside on a nice day can't beat it.
We'd been craving seafood while visiting family and drove a good bit to find some. This did not disappoint. Excellent fish and chips. Tasted so fresh. And a great view to go along. They have a diner feel and a lovely deck outside. Worth a visit!
Cute little place on the bay. Hot, fresh fish cooked perfectly! My husband enjoyed the shrimp sandwich and onion rings. Excellent, friendly service! They were about to close but still served us. We had a great experience with beautiful views of the bay.
Unique authentic restaurant right on Humboldt Bay. Unpretentious, delicious, homemade breakfast. Friendly staff. Nice paths close by to walk along the bay and take in the natural beauty of the preserved bay front.
Great little seafood restaurant with amazing Dungeness crab omelets and sandwichs. Good bloody Mary's and mimosas.
