Hawaiian Time

This used to be one of our fave places to eat when lived here. We always make a point to eat Hawaiian time at least once when in town. Today, we were disappointed to discover they no longer carry the only two items we ever order from here. They no longer sell anything with beef. Unfortunately we didn’t learn this until we had already driven there. Online still shows their full menu. The staff was very friendly though. Parking lot was swarming with high schoolers yelling obscene things at each other, which was kinda of annoying.

Yummmm. So the food here is good and fresh and different. I have eaten at many a Hawaiian BBQ and my favorite dish, Chicken Katsu, was not offered. I decided to branch out and I tried the volcano chicken, it was really good. What was just ok was the Mac salad. It’s not bad or gross but it is not like the typical Hawaiian Mac that anyone familiar with Hawaiian food is used to. It was still really good and I liked it…but I still missed my katsu.

It is incredibly disappointing they no longer have beef. The chicken was so dry I could barely choke it down. I threw over half away it was so terrible. They did not provide sauce in the container as they usually do. I did not ask for it because it had always been there in the past. It seems the hard times have hit Hawaiian Time very hard. Time to scratch this off my lunchtime list of options. Such a bummer.

I came here to get some dinner WORST SERVICE! In the first place there building was dark you couldn’t even tell it was opened 2nd i had asked for Extra chicken and didn’t get it tried calling BUT THEY NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE and couldn’t go in cause there lobby was closed.! I got two plates and asked for extra teriyaki sauce and the girl give me one small teriyaki sauce for two plates didn’t even have the one that come inside with the food.! They said they only had one left cause they were short staffed.! Mind you it’s 8pm and there still open until 10! I’m now eating dry rice.! I wouldn’t even give it 1 star.!
