Very nice casual Japanese restaurant. A wide variety of sakes. The Hamachi Kama was excellent. They have several silken tofus that are also very good. I liked the salted cuttlefish, but my wife didn't like the texture. The miso soup was also very good. So far this is the best ramen I've had in the area.

Small little restaurant, forget it if you have a party of more than 4 and would want to sit together. $13 for a ramen with small portion of noodle and 1 tiny piece of pork, yes 1 piece. Worse of all, it tastes salty and it deliver a unbelievable thirst afterward. Parking is very limited and the surrounding is dark. Skip it.

30 minutes to take our order, at least another 45 to get the food, and it was just two sushi rolls.
I think our server forgot about us, or he may have been drunk. He took several shots at the bar while we were waiting for them to take our order. When we did get our food, it too was disappointing, pictured below is a $16 roll. It was tiny, and only had cucumber on the inside. All around bummed and will not go here again even though it’s the closest spot to my house.

Excellent! I have been here four times now and it is always great. Umi had tough shoes to fill but they have brought excellent traditional Japanese food to north leucadia and we love it!

A must try! It's a hidden gem. The chefs are amazing, the Ramen is to die for, everything on the menu is so authentic, very fresh and tasty, staff is very friendly. Love the family environment! Does get very tight inside and wait times can be long (at busy hours) but SO worth the wait. Parking can be a struggle as well but over all it's a must!!!!!!

Noisy bar. I was too tired to read reviews before go there. And had the same experience. This is not a restaurant. Eat dinner before you go there. You will like this place if you love talking with the waitresses. I can count the number of noddles in the bowl. The prices are normal but the size is less than one quarter of the normal dishes in the other Japanese restaurant.
Would carefully read the review before entering a restaurant.

Authentic Japanese food, made with LOVE! If you had ever been to the previous, Sake House, then you not be disappointed with the new ownership. Umi is definitely paying homage to a large part of the menu and vibe that the Sake House was famous for. You can ignore the other posts about price/quantity/wait-time, etc. This is not a 'sushi bar' (although they have wonderful sushi). You can rest assured that everything you try will be incredible and it is worth the wait and the price. The chefs take pride in their ingredients, presentation and service of this special Japanese menu. I can't wait to go back...we will definitely be frequent local customers :)
