Great atmosphere and food to match! Ordered the olla coffee and gluten free crab cake eggs Benedict with upgraded potatoes. It was delicious! The portions are large so I got to take home most of the potatoes and fixed them with eggs the next morning. Staff was friendly and quick - never an empty beverage cup and food came out quickly
Everyones meal was delicious and the booth was big enough for us to lay down and take a nap after our meal. Service was top notch as well

Such a good brunch! We were just in the area for the morning but we barely had a wait and the food was beautiful and delicious. Kids loved the pancakes, eggs Benedict were so good! Bucket mimosas were 100% worth it.
I love breakfast republic. The San Diego location is also fantastic. I was surprised at how quaint and small this location was. I absolutely loved it regardless of it's size. Great location and the staff were all pleasant and very nice. The food was good and for the price the portions were just right. My only complaint was the coffee. It was too bitter, almost a burnt taste but it shouldn't deter anyone. Bad batch at the time I presume.
It was good but could be a lot better.
The good:
-Prices were very reasonable. $9-14 for most items
-Everything looked amazing and plates were very picturesque.
-Food came out fast.
-Clean restaurant bright friendly environment.
The bad:
-They ration syrup like it’s the Great Depression. Got 1 tiny syrup container (about 1/2 oz) to share with for 3 large French toast platters. Asked for more twice. Each time getting about the amount that will fit in one of those ketchup paper cups.
-Avacado toast looked amazing but was lacking avacado and the toast was extremely thick dry and chewy. Like a sourdough roll or something similar. Which really took away from the flavor of the strawberry and pomegranate.
-Pancakes were huge and really good, but again came with 1 tiny thing of syrup for about 2 bites.
Go here often because it’s consistent with good food and good service. I enjoy sitting at the bar there.
Juan and Brooke are always great to see and welcoming.
Love it !!!! Really delicious food and friendly staff. Our order was:
- stake N eggs : 10/10 the stake was soft and tasty.
- mushrooms N pesto: 9/10 delicious too
- Oreo pancakes was good too 8/10
- I really recommend the Oreo latte not to sweet and not too bitter 👍🏼👍🏼
But I think they need more waiters because the place is too crowded.
Had a great time here with the bartender Brooke! She was funny and interesting, and I'd probably come again just for that.
That being said, I came in for my birthday with a buddy and ordered the protein lover scramble. The eggs were soft and excellent, with a wonderfully savory flavor!
My friend ordered brioche french toast which was gone in the blink of an eye, so I'm assuming it was really good.
Then for my birthday, they gave me a Cinnamon Ginger Coffe Cake, which was delicious! It was soft and moist, and an absolute pleasure to eat!
Huge thanks to staff for starting my day off on the right foot!
Breakups are the worst, don’t you think? They may cost less than a root canal, but they’re typically just about as enjoyable. You cross that threshold when you realize that this just isn’t going anywhere and then struggle with how to extricate yourself from a bad situation. You ponder the typical, “It’s not you, it’s me” opener, but the whole time you’re thinking, “Oh, it’s totally YOU!!! I mean, how have I not come to this conclusion sooner? Note to self, I really must start listening to my friends and family more often.”
Well good news is in order as Henry’s Take has a simple 3 step plan designed to guide you through this difficult moment.
Step 1: Invite him/her casually to Breakfast Republic.
Step 2: This is important as the whole transaction hinges on getting this part right. You MUST be decisive here and leave no room for ambiguity! Immediately after you’re seated you need to slide the wrapped silverware over to them with the message FACE UP. Once they’ve read it, you need to pause for approximately 1.2 seconds (@danavoros 😉) to let the message register, and then give them the upward and directional “nod” (always in the direction of the exit). Be careful to never break eye contact (decisive, remember!), and then boldly announce, “Check please!” That oughta do the trick!
Step 3: Once they’re gone we’d recommend that you enjoy your newly minted freedom and order the “Jurassic Pork Benedict.”
Please be aware, @breakfastrepublic isn’t kidding about the “No Reservations” thing, so plan accordingly.
And that’s…Henry’s Take. @henrystake
P.S. If you are dating someone who happens to also be a Henry’s Take follower, and they invite you casually to Breakfast Republic, you may want to ask a few questions in advance.
First time here and was very impressed. Food and coffee was delicious and the service was impeccable! Definitely recommend. I had their avocado toast and YUM!!
