Everything is super yum. Everything. Pretty fast service even during busy times. Love the salmon with garlic butter and light amount shop seasoning.. oh man. And their veggies are well cooked and sooooo flavorful. Sometimes it bugs when the line is out the door, but if you got time it's worth it. It'd be awesome to be able to mobile order. We come back often, they never disappoint.
I had the fish house shrimp which were grilled with a spicy rub. The clam chowder was recommended by the staff it was creamy and smooth except for the bites of a sausage (polish) not sure but it gave it a smokey flavor. To die for. They also have it without sausage. Ordered a 1/2 order of fries it could feed a family. The outdoor patio is pet friendly. The service was great.

The Fish Shop’s build-your-own taco option is a great choice! With three locations in Southern California, The Fish Shop in Pacific Beach, Encinitas, and Hermosa Beach offers the freshest fish east of the beach.

All Fish Shop locations are having a toy drive this weekend (for every toy over $5 you get a fish taco). To spread holiday cheer, Pacific Beach Fish Shop and Encinitas Fish Shop are partnering with It’s All About The Kids, a non-profit organization that creates new and innovative programs to benefit children’s charities and enhance the lives of less fortunate children and their families. The Fish Shop family is committed to the advancement of children in the community and making sure every child has a merry Christmas.
Delicious!. We had fish tacos and a mahi sandwich with the garlic butter sauce. Both were very good and the fries and onion rings were good as well. We recommend it!
The Fish Shop is amazing. Took my wife and kids there on a Sunday afternoon. NFL games on thier HD tv's, great service and amazing fish tacos. I wish I could've tried more, but got too full. Favorite place in Encinitas. We'll be back!
A must stop when you are in Encinitas!
The blackened red snapper was amazing!
Fresh, flavorful and the portion was perfect.
Fish taco was crunchy with a nice size piece of fish and also grilled to perfection.
Onion rings were good, not great and the rice was just ok.
The clam chowder bread bowl was delicious and creamy and my wife and I both loved the fresh bread it was served in.
Great draft beer selection with indoor/outdoor seating.
We will eat here every time we are in the area.
What a great find! Had the fish and chips, plus the swordfish sandwich and both were excellent. Super nice patio to enjoy your food on, and plenty of seating. Lots of bench seating which I enjoyed. Definitely mark this spot on your list!
Fantastic seafood restaurant in Encinitas. Since this restaurant is located near the beach with busy tourist traffics, the line here tends to get very long. But the line moved very quickly.
This is our second time here. The line seemed to be longer this time. I think today is Father’s Day, everyone is out treating their fathers for the special occasion.
Even though it’s in a tourist spot, the foods are excellent. I highly recommend the the fish tacos. They make the ordering process very simple. You just have to follow the 123 steps. 1st, choose the type of fish, 2nd, choose the sauce and the 3rd select how you want the seafood to go with, I. e. Taco or plate.
I ordered a salmon belly taco which costed only $6. Since San Diego us know for IPA beer, I got myself an glass of their special IPA to go with my Taco. Besides beer, the restaurant offers many varieties of wines as well.
My wife’s jumbo shrimp platter was very good too. The shrimp are huge and the two sides that came with the shrimps were delicious.
This place definitely worth a stop over before arriving to San Diego.
Oh my goodness, what a tasty find! My husband saw this shop on a drive through Encinitas, and so on a return visit to this adorable beach town, we decided to check it out. So glad we did!
We sat at the bar, and enjoyed the bustling activity; what an "on top of it bunch" of staff!
We had cod fish and chips, as well as a grilled ahi salad. The clam chowder was some of the best we've had!
The prices were very reasonable (well, California price reasonable), and I know that when we head that way again, The Fish Shop at Encinitas will be top on the list of "we've got to go there again" places.
Great taste, long line to place order at the counter, reasonable beer selection.
We really enjoyed the meal. The wine was pretty good too. Very clean and nice outdoor seating. Staff was friendly and welcoming. We had halibut and shrimp and slices were a bit salty but good. You must get the onion rings! Encinitas is a cute little town and Moonlight Beach is awesome.
Fresh fish, friendly service. The blackening seasoning is good, the fish soup is delicious.
